Eric was taken to the hospital and placed on a ventilator. Finn revealed that he'd been researching Eric's case, and Dr. Colby had released the case to Finn. Finn proposed an experimental treatment but offered no guarantees that Eric would survive or maintain the same quality of life. Ridge denied the treatment and instructed Finn to take Eric off life support. Eric stirred, causing Ridge to change his mind and okay the procedure. Finn and Bridget conducted the surgery. As they told the family Eric had pulled through, Stephanie welcomed Eric home. R.J. and Luna professed love for each other.

Clyde ordered Stefan to sell drugs at the Bistro. Jada and Stephanie bonded over drinks. Tate refused to return to boarding school. Paulina was devastated that Lani's release was postponed. Nicole and E.J. spread their son's ashes in the garden. Xander and Sarah asked John and Marlena for romantic advice. Tate refused to help Holly. A drunken Stephanie slept with Harris. Sloan decided to tell Eric the truth about the baby after Jude was kidnapped. E.J. found Nicole with baby Jude in the wine cellar.

After receiving another ominous message from Austin's killer, Ava became convinced that Nikolas had killed Austin and was trying to frame her for the murder. Carly sensed that something was troubling Ava, so she urged Ava to talk to Sonny if Ava was in danger. Sonny made a generous donation to the hospital for Christmas. Brennan continued to seek out Carly. Against the advice of the hospital's attorney, Monica and Tracy backed Finn in the malpractice lawsuit. Dante retrieved the stolen file from Forsyth's locker at the train station. Along with the file were several pieces of evidence, which Dante put into a safe deposit box at the bank. Sam discovered a series of numbers written under the lining of a wallet that Forsyth had stashed with the file. Scott invited Lucy to join him for a visit with Serena. When she learned that Maxie had money troubles, Brook Lynn formed a bold plan to help Maxie. Alexis and Sonny learned about Kristina's plans to be Molly and T.J.'s surrogate. Blaze was supportive of Kristina's decision. Ned offered to keep Nina's secret in exchange for Nina getting inside information on what Drew and Michael's plans were for ELQ. Josslyn and Trina discovered that Adam was a gifted musician.

A sympathetic Michael agreed to defend Claire. Michael advised Claire to plead guilty by reason of insanity. Cole swiped Claire's DNA from the Oregon lake house. Jordan tormented Nikki with photos of a drunk and unconscious Nikki taken during her captivity. Nikki continued to hide her drinking. Jordan phoned in an anonymous tip to the police to lure them to a motel room, where she'd planted creepy clues that indicated she was murderously stalking the Newmans. Ashley named her price to sell Glissade to Tucker. Tucker instructed Kyle to steal new product information from Jabot. Kyle suspected that Tucker intended to make him a sacrificial lamb, and he questioned whether Audra's loyalties were with Kyle or with Tucker. Billy was taken aback when Chelsea compared his adrenalin rush from the Abbotts' plan to take down Tucker to his gambling addiction. Fearing he would backslide, Billy decided to leave Jabot and join Jill at Chancellor-Winters. Chloe tried to convince Nick to reunite with Sally. Nick glowered when he spotted Adam and Sally on a date. When Sharon bailed on a concert date with Chance, he invited Summer to go with him instead. Christine frowned upon Chance's resignation from the police force. Phyllis and Christine vied for Danny's attention. Abby noticed Heather's renewed interest in Daniel.
