Soap opera fans are being gifted with yet another holiday movie for the 2019 season: 2nd Chance for Christmas, which stars Brittany Underwood (ex-Langston Wilde) alongside Vivica A. Fox (ex-Stephanie Simmons, The Young and the Restless), Mark McGrath, and Tara Reid.
The holiday tale is a spin on the classic Christmas story A Christmas Carol and follows Underwood as a spoiled celebrity musician named Chance Love who is visited by a series of ghosts who attempt to get her to change her ways and embrace love, family, and the Christmas spirit.
"It's such a classic tale and told so many times, I loved this take on it being a pop star diva," the actress reveals to Soaps In Depth. "And I got to write a song for it, so that was cool. I have a Christmas song now!"
The song the actress is referring to is titled "Home for Christmas," which she cowrote with a friend.
"We had a lot of fun writing it. We kind of just started with Christmas themes in general and then we kind of went on being home for Christmas and it tied into the story so well," she explains. "Because the story of her not going home for Christmas and choosing career over family but then realizing at the end of the day the true meaning of life and the value of the people that you love."
2nd Chance for Christmas, which also stars Jim O'Heir (ex-Matt Cannistra, The Bold and the Beautiful), is out now on digital platforms like Apple TV and Amazon, but it will also be available on DVD beginning Tuesday, December 3.

Brittany Underwood played the role of OLTL's Langston from 2006 to 2012 and later went on to star in Hollywood Heights. The actress began her singing career in 2012 with a single called "Flow," which was followed by songs like "Pull Me in Again," "Black Widow," "California Wild," "Love Me Now or Let Me Go," "Shine," and "High Heels High Hopes."
Vivica A. Fox is known to soap fans for playing the role of Carmen Silva on Days of our Lives in 1988, playing the leading role of Maya Reubens in Generations from 1989 to 1991, and playing the role of Y&R's Stephanie from 1994 to 1995. After leaving soaps, Fox went on to star in major films like Independence Day and Set It Off.
Jim O'Heir has been playing the recurring role of B&B's Matt since 2016, but he's best known for his role as Jerry Gergich on Parks and Recreation.
