Score! Fans of former One Life to Live star Renée Elise Goldsberry (ex-Evangeline Williamson) got to see the actress shine in front of millions of people when she reunited with her former Hamilton costars to sing at Super Bowl LI.
The National Football League announced the news that Goldsberry, Phillipa Soo, and Jasmine Cephas Jones -- the actresses who originated the roles of Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy Schuyler in Broadway's smash hit musical -- would reunite to perform "America the Beautiful" during this year's pregame show.
The televised pregame segment is known for attracting big celebrities; a variety of pop stars have sung "America the Beautiful" during the popular sports event, including Faith Hill, Alicia Keys, and Ray Charles.
This year's Super Bowl, which took place in Houston, began at 6:30PM ET on Sunday, February 5, on FOX. "America the Beautiful" was expected to air shortly before then -- at about 6:20PM ET. Lady Gaga headlined the halftime show.
This isn't the first time a soap star has shown off her singing talents at a major sporting event. Both The Bold and the Beautiful's Reign Edwards (Nicole Avant) and Karla Mosley (Maya Avant) have sung the national anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner," for Dodgers games.
