It was Valentine's Day, and none of the working Fusion ladies had hot dates. Kendall, Greenlee, and Simone were discussing how they would love to be wined and dined, when a booming voice uttered, "Are you hot?" It was the gorgeous pipe-fixing maintenance man Carlos, and he was standing right behind Simone. Simone did her usual swooning at the sight of Carlos. She somehow managed to calmly tell him that they hadn't called him.

Carlos explained that Reggie had called about a heating problem and quickly headed toward the thermostat. Kendall and Greenlee were chuckling loudly about Simone's lovesick behavior. "You're like a dog about to jump on a juicy steak," Kendall said as she giggled. Then Carlos called across the room to Simone that he would fix her screws in a few minutes. This statement made Greenlee literally spit out her water from laughing so hard. Simone begged the two women to calm down, and sauntered over to Carlos.

Kendall and Greenlee bonded some more as they watched Simone flirt. A visitor interrupted their spying. "Ooh, competition," Kendall whispered gleefully. It was Simone's lawyer -- the one who had helped her when she had been arrested. Simone invited him in and introduced the lawyer to Carlos.

The lawyer told Simone that he was hoping he could collect what she owed him: dinner for two. Simone looked a bit flustered as she sneaked a glimpse at Carlos but then happily agreed to take the lawyer to dinner. She asked Greenlee and Kendall if it was okay to leave. The women giggled as Kendall inquired loudly if Simone was going to dig into his "legal briefs."

Simone ignored their comments and turned to say goodbye to Carlos, who had somehow disappeared. She shrugged her shoulders and happily ran out. As soon as Simone left, the smiles on Kendall and Greenlee's faces left. They both confessed that they were jealous and depressed from being alone on Valentine's Day.

Kendall sat down at her computer and noticed that Greenlee had received a Valentine's email. Greenlee was shocked. She looked at it and immediately concluded that the email was from Leo. Kendall got upset that Greenlee could actually think that and gently scolded her that even Leo would want her to move on. Greenlee got sad and explained how she had pictured being with Leo on Valentine's Day.

Kendall returned to her computer and was disappointed that Michael hadn't sent her a card. She decided to head home, but on her way out, she ran into a deliveryman with roses. She excitedly ran back to her desk with the flowers. Greenlee watched as Kendall opened the card. "I guess Michael didn't forget Valentine's Day," Greenlee said with a half-smile. Kendall agreed and quietly headed again toward the elevator. Then she turned around, took out a red rose, and laid it on Greenlee's desk. "Happy Valentine's Day ... partner," she said before leaving.

Maggie was lying on her bed, complaining to Bianca about Henry's hot and cold tendencies and their recent problem with the Asian/Caucasian thing. "Maybe he's a good guy, or maybe he's just a jerk," Maggie reasoned. "Maybe he's a cute jerk," Bianca suggested with a smile, implying that Maggie was attracted to him. Maggie got a bit uncomfortable with Bianca giving her a love pep talk. Bianca assured Maggie that she was okay with everything.

Maggie admitted that Henry was good-looking but insisted that his looks had nothing to do with it. Just then, there was a knock at the door. It was Henry, and he was furious. "Stop making me crazy," Henry shouted, insisting, "I'm not going to fail chemistry because of you." Maggie was shocked and confused. Suddenly, Henry noticed Bianca in the room and got a little embarrassed. Seeing Henry's mood, Bianca quickly exited.

After Bianca left, Henry explained that he was still angry that Maggie had essentially called him a racist. He emphatically denied that that was the case but reminded her how many people in the world were racist. Maggie agreed with Henry but still couldn't understand why he was so angry with her. "So it's not a Caucasian thing, it's a me thing," Maggie concluded. "No, no, no," Henry exclaimed, getting very upset again.

Henry looked into Maggie's eyes and said that all the bigotry in the world couldn't stop his feelings toward her. "So why are you so confused?" Maggie asked, very confused herself. "Because you're gay," Henry replied. He assured her that he was okay with whatever she and Bianca did together. Maggie tried to explain that she and Bianca were just friends and that she wasn't gay.

Henry appeared to finally believe Maggie, and they agreed to study together. "We make a good team," Maggie declared. Henry agreed and sat at Maggie's desk. By the time they were done studying, Henry was sitting next to Maggie on her bed. They discussed chemistry for a few seconds, and then they started kissing.

David was at Anna's bedside, where the couple was hugging and kissing. Anna thanked David again for saving their baby. David suddenly remembered that he had a surprise for Anna and ran out of the room. His good mood abruptly changed when he saw Edmund in the hallway. David blocked the door to Anna's room, but Edmund managed to pass by him.

Anna greeted Edmund and saw that David was right behind him. Edmund quickly explained that her sister Alex was asking for her. She asked David to leave so that she and Edmund could have private time. David reluctantly left, and Anna changed the subject to Aidan and Maria. She told Edmund that Aidan had been framed, and he was definitely not a murderer.

Edmund nodded sadly and told Anna that he was happy for her nephew. Edmund told Anna to take care, and he left. David followed Edmund into the hallway and thanked Edmund for not mentioning the experimental memory drug. Edmund just glared at David and silently walked away.

David returned to Anna's bedside and gave her a surprise valentine. It was a red heart with their baby's sonogram in the middle.

In the meantime, Edmund had gone back to Wildwind, pacing sadly in the living room. Little Maddie entered the room and asked him if he was sad because it was Valentine's Day and mommy wasn't there. He assured Maddie that she was his favorite valentine and tearfully gave her a hug.

Morgan followed Julian into their hotel room. She frantically asked Julian what they should do with Kingman's body. Julian shouted that he would handle it. He ordered Morgan to calm down because he wanted to take his time with Aidan. He predicted once again how much he would relish killing Aidan's soul mate, Maureen, right in front of Aidan. He reminded Morgan how Aidan had killed his Fiona and how much Aidan had humiliated him. Morgan expressed her support in Julian's revenge plans. But as soon as Julian turned his back, her face changed.

In the meantime, Maria/Maureen was lying on the beach because of her injured ankle. Aidan found a towel and wrapped her ankle while Maureen stared at him, dreamy-eyed. Aidan asked her if she could stand, but she could barely walk. With Aidan's help, she hobbled across the beach into a dark cabin.

Inside the cabin, Aidan cracked some coconuts and told Maureen some more of the history between him and Julian. He explained that Julian had become jealous of him from the moment he had arrived in London as a young man. He told Maureen that he had lived with Morgan and that Julian had physically abused Fiona. At the time, he had thought he was in love with Fiona, but he claimed he had never, ever touched her. Instead, he had gone to Afghanistan to get himself killed.

Maria thanked him for sharing the information with her and caressed his face. "Happy Valentine's Day," she said, staring deeply into his eyes. They began kissing. Aidan suddenly stopped and looked at her. "Come with me," he said and took her hand. They went back to the beach and built a bonfire. Then they lay next to the fire, where they snuggled and kissed to the background tune of "I Am Ready for Love."

Maggie confided to Bianca how much she had enjoyed Henry's kiss but admitted she was worried that a change in their relationship could mean she'd soon need a new lab partner. Laurie told Adam she needed to confer with JR before she decided if she'd accept his generous offer. Edmund had a change of heart and realized he couldn't give up on Maria after all. Maria fretted when Aidan received a message to meet Kingman alone. Laurie explained to an angry JR how she might be able to attend Harvard right alongside him.

Simone and Mia wondered who the mystery man could be after a dozen red roses arrived at Fusion for Greenlee. Joni accused Jamie of trying to move in on Laurie the minute she broke up with JR. Meanwhile, JR warned Adam he would never again let his father meddle in his life. As they prepared for their official launch party, Kendall reminded Mia and Simone how important it was for her to outshine Erica at last. Overruling David's objections, Anna volunteered to help Edmund track Maria down.

Maggie discovered another of Henry's many talents when she heard him playing classical guitar. Aidan walked straight into Morgan's trap as Julian took Maria captive. Laurie tearfully unburdened herself to a sympathetic Jamie. Simone invited Carlos to be her guest at the Fusion party. Julian shot Morgan dead without batting an eye then ordered Aidan to surrender his gun. Joni spotted Jamie and Laurie locking lips. Aidan shot Julian but was horrified to see Maria fall as well.

Michael's return pleasantly surprised Kendall, who was further dazzled when he revealed how he had cut short an important business trip abroad just to see her. Though Jake assured his brother that his fling with Allison was a thing of the past, Tad warned him not to assume he was completely off the hook. Edmund told Isabella he was heading to the Bahamas to find Maria.

Gleefully announcing to a bristling Chris that his fiancée had taken a lover on the side, Donald produced photos of the queen of Enchantment with Michael aboard his private jet. After throwing the sleazy tabloid reporter out on his ear, Chris demanded some answers from Erica. Liza gently scolded Mia for neglecting Jake and advised her sister to rectify her error immediately. At the free clinic, Reggie showed Janelle the "B" he had earned on his history test. Afterwards, a beaming Janelle commended Trey on his skills as a foster parent.

Edmund tried to explain to a petulant Maddie why the mother she had known might never return. Kendall's coworkers expressed displeasure at finding an infamous corporate raider in their midst. One of Reggie's old running buddies ordered him to hand over the keys to Trey's loft. Jack went to Wildwind with news of Maria. Lena offered to act as Erica's spy at the Fusion launch party. Allison enticed Jake again.

Donald Steele continued his nasty accusations at Michael about his meeting with Erica while Kendall stood speechless. Michael threatened Donald, and Greenlee stepped in, shoving him out the door. When Michael turned around, Kendall was gone. He looked around and found her on the rooftop. She said she didn't like being lied to, and he said it had all been Erica's doing, not his. He said Erica had thought he was staging a hostile takeover, so she had arranged a meeting.

Kendall wondered if her mother had asked about her, and Michael told her no, her name never been mentioned. Kendall didn't believe it and said her mother never missed a chance to bad-mouth her and tell everyone who would listen how she would ruin their lives. Michael asked why Erica hated Kendall so much, and she said her mother would go back in time and make sure Kendall had never been born if she could. Michael said he wouldn't let her because the idea of not knowing Kendall was unthinkable. He said Erica was jealous of Kendall's youth, beauty, and strength.

Kendall said she didn't know how strong she was, and Michael said she was the strongest woman he knew. He told her to trust her inner voice and that he knew she'd always be a major part of his life. Michael told her she could be anything she aspired to be, and he wished he could be with her that night to see her conquer the world. Kendall said she had connections and could get him a ticket, but he told her he had business that had to be taken care of. Michael told her to enjoy the spotlight, and she said she wanted to share it with him. He told her that she could share it with him when he whisked her away to Tuscany, and they shared a passionate kiss.

Jake walked into Fusion and found Mia busy getting ready for the party. He told her he had just gotten off the phone with his parents. Mia asked if they were okay about not having dinner that night. Jake said he hadn't told them. They argued, and Mia tried to explain how important the party was to her. Jake said they were getting lost in the shuffle, and Mia was touched that he missed her so much.

Mia stressed how important that night was, and Jake finally agreed to go with her. She promised not to leave his side for a minute and then ran off to do something. Jake stood there in silence. She returned with Greenlee, who told her about "Andrew," who was going to the celebration. Greenlee said Mia had to be "glued to him" for the evening. Jake asked if they were running a cosmetics company or an escort service.

Greenlee said everyone knew Mia belonged to Jake, and she took off. Mia told Jake she would ditch the guy as soon as she could. Jake tried to talk Mia into going home and changing clothes "and whatever else we can think of," but his phone rang. He answered it and told them he wasn't on call and to get the next person on the call list. Jake left to get ready while Mia stayed to help out.

Lori and Joni worked at Fusion, and Joni asked if Lori was going to the party with JR. Lori told Joni that they were definitely broken up. Joni said she had seen Lori and Jamie kissing at BJ's, and Lori said it had meant nothing. Joni said she hadn't known Lori was the type of girl who tried to take other girls' boyfriends. Lori got miffed and said she wasn't going after Jamie, and besides, he and Joni weren't going out anymore. Joni got angry and said she was telling JR and walked away.

Opal stopped by Fusion to pick up Petey. She wondered where Kendall was, and he said she was taking care of business. Opal wasn't pleased that Kendall wasn't watching her son. Petey told his mother that he was going to the party that night to help his "Fusion Babes" kick Enchantment's butt. Opal just snickered and said they couldn't beat Erica at the game she invented. Opal took Petey home.

In her Enchantment office Erica was on the phone to Jordan. She told him that Michael was in town and asked him to find out why. As she hung up, Bianca walked in and told her mother about the Fusion party. Bianca was worried about the competition, but Erica downplayed it. Bianca said Kendall and Greenlee were trying to bury Enchantment, but Erica just laughed and said to let them try.

Jack walked in with flowers, and Bianca asked what they were for, probing, "Did you two have a fight?" Erica said he didn't need a reason to buy her flowers and then asked Bianca to go check on Boyd. After Bianca left, Erica snipped at Jack, "Have you lost your mind?" Jack said she was stuck with him and asked where they should go for dinner. Erica told him to stop playing "this silly game," and Jack grabbed her arm, saying, "This is no silly game."

Erica reminded Jack that she was engaged to Chris, and he reminded her that they had slept together. Erica said it had been a mistake that wouldn't happen again. Jack said she couldn't edit out the naughty bits to make herself feel better, and he leaned in very close to her. Erica taunted him, asking if he wanted to take her right there on her desk. Jack said the thought had crossed his mind, and Erica asked why not. He said, "Greed. I want you all to myself."

Jack went on to say there was an undeniable force that kept drawing him and Erica back together and told her to admit it: they were destined to be together. She told him he was totally egotistical, and Jack wondered what Chris would say if he knew about their "indiscretion." Erica ordered him not to tell Chris, and Jack said a candlelit dinner would buy his silence. He started to walk out the door as Opal walked in. She wondered why Jack was there, and Erica got very testy with her friend.

Opal said she had gotten an invitation to the Fusion party from a Glamorama customer and was thinking she should go check it out for Erica. Erica said Opal wasn't dressed for the party; it was "urban chic, not urban blight." Opal was very hurt and stunned by Erica's nasty remark, and she left. Outside the door, Opal said, "I'll show her a thing or three," and left.

Meanwhile, Erica called her secretary Christy and told Christy not to let another person or phone call get through, or it would be her job. A few minutes later, Jack opened the door, followed by Christy, who said he hadn't listened when she had told him Erica wasn't seeing anyone. Jack told Erica she wasn't dressed for dinner, while she stood angry and speechless. Chris walked in and asked what he was interrupting.

Greenlee told Carlos he needed to work the party as a security guard, and Simone ran over to say that he was attending the party as her guest. Greenlee asked Simone where their party dresses were, and Simone said she was just leaving to pick them up and ran out. Greenlee noticed the flowers and asked about them. Kendall said they were from her mystery man and told Greenlee to check her email. Greenlee did, and there was a message that said, "You're the most beautiful flower in the bouquet." Kendall smiled at her and said, "You've got a date!" Greenlee said she was being cyber-stalked and grabbed the guest list to see if she could figure out who it was.

Boyd opened the party invitation Kendall had sent him as Bianca walked in the office. She asked if he was going, and he said no. She told him to rethink that decision; it could be a good time to show Kendall what she was missing. Bianca said they could go together, and Boyd finally agreed.

Aidan and Maureen stepped off the airplane into a sea of reporters. The reporters threw questions at them, but Aidan just pushed through them. They almost ran into Edmund. The reporters ran over and began firing more questions, but Edmund told them to leave them alone. He then asked Aidan for some privacy, and Aidan kissed Maureen's hand and began to step away.

Edmund asked how Maureen was and told her he should take her to Dr. Joe to get checked out. Aidan quickly stepped in and said she wasn't going anywhere with Edmund. Edmund said he wasn't going to force her to do anything, and she asked what he was doing there. Edmund apologized for trying to force her to be someone she was not. He said he had thought if he tried hard enough, Maria would return, but he had put her through hell, and he was sorry. She said she wasn't the woman he wanted her to be.

Edmund said he loved Maria so much that he had never stopped believing Maureen could be her, but he had to let her go. Maureen was touched, and Edmund said it was goodbye. She said it wasn't the place to do that, but Edmund said he couldn't take her back to Wildwind; that was just a prison to her. She asked about the kids, and he handed her the valentine Maddie had made. She started to grow teary-eyed and said it would break their hearts.

Edmund said he and Maureen needed to give the children time to understand that she wasn't returning home. Maria said she loved them. Edmund said she had to follow her heart and that they had to do what's best for everyone. Aidan said he'd take good care of Maureen. She asked Aidan for a minute alone with Edmund, so he went to get their luggage. She asked what was really going on because it was a little too easy.

Edmund said, "You think it's easy for me to say goodbye, no second chances, no hope? Easy for me to tell the children that their mommy isn't coming home?" Maureen said she didn't want to say goodbye to them, and Edmund said she just wanted to say goodbye to him. He said he remembered what they'd had and what they had lost. He said he loved her so much that he had to let her go.

Maureen cried and said she wished she could be Maria for him. Edmund had tears in his eyes as he handed her an envelope. He said it was a custody agreement. He said she would always have access to the children, but "as far as we're concerned, we're done. You're free."

At Fusion, the ladies were getting ready for their launch party. Simone was expected to deliver the dresses and had not shown up yet. She was being escorted to a jail cell by a police officer who had arrested her for trying to pick him up. She was dressed in a white, low-cut, short dress with a boa stole. Simone tried to explain that she needed to get to Fusion's party. The officer didn't care, and the other ladies of the evening in the jail cell with Simone teased her about being arrested.

Simone demanded her one phone call that was permitted and, after dialing a number, shouted into the phone, "Kenny I need you." Kenny, her attorney, soon showed up at the jail. The other girls drooled over his good looks and commented he was scrawny for a pimp. Simone wanted him to get the dresses to Greenlee. He left to phone Greenlee.

Simone asked her cellmates if her dress made her look like a prostitute. "Card-carrying and dues-paying," they replied. Simone talked to the ladies about makeup and Fusion's party. Kenny returned with Simone's release as well as her cellmates'. Kenny and Simone left to go to Fusion. The cellmates decided they were going to the party at Fusion, as well, unknown to Simone.

Helping to set up for the party at Fusion, Joni saw Laurie thank Carlos for helping her with a box. Laurie commented that she wasn't after Carlos or Jamie, and if Jamie was looking around, Joni needed to look at herself to find out why. Joni tried to put down Laurie by saying she had once thought she was her best friend; she stalked off.

Luis went up in the elevator to Fusion. He demand Reggie turn over the keys to Trey's apartment, or he would shoot the "hot doc" at the clinic. Reggie passed him the keys, and Luis left. Carlos noticed Luis had stopped by and asked Reggie if everything was okay. Reggie told him to forget what he had seen.

Chris popped into Erica's office at Enchantment and wondered why Jack was there. He was wondering if Lily was sick again and commented that Erica looked like she had just been caught shoplifting. Erica mumbled a justification for her behavior, and Jack became impatient. He told Erica to just tell Chris the truth.

Chris asked Jack to fill him in. Erica interrupted and told a cover story that she and Jack had been discussing Bianca's trust fund. Chris wasn't buying it. Chris told Erica that she and Jack shared some special meaning and that they should just go with their feelings. Chris said he was fed up and left the room

Erica whirled around to face Jack and asked him, "How dare you?" She vented her frustration and anger. "You are not going to steamroll over my life," she said. She accused Jack of baiting Chris and taunting her. Erica demanded to know why Jack wouldn't tell Chris that he was blackmailing her to go out with him. Jack said he was not going to forget what had gone on between them.

Erica denied their lovemaking had had any deep meaning to her. She didn't want to ruin her future with Chris. Jack again told her to tell Chris the truth. Erica retorted that she hated Jack. Jack demanded she be honest with herself. She finally gave in and admitted she loved him.

Jack looked directly into Erica's eyes and demanded to know if she really was sure making love to him had been the biggest mistake of her life. "I'm sure," she angrily replied. Jack told Erica to tell Chris about their liaison and her feelings for Jack. Erica refused. She changed the subject and said it was time to go to dinner.

Lysistrata, the marriage therapist, was stretched out in a hammock. She asked for a push. Adam stood up, a little too eager to oblige, and Liza stepped in front of him and gently pushed the hammock swing. Lysistrata asked how the sex scarf experiment had gone, and Adam, embarrassed, refused to discuss his sex life. Liza said it had been the best sex she had ever had.

Adam was disgusted that a scarf prop had been turned into a game connected with sex. When only one person of the couple remembered a sexual experience more fondly than the other, there was a problem, noted Lysistrata. She asked Adam if he could guess why he hadn't like it. Adam suggested they table the discussion, and Liza interrupted and said they weren't holding a board meeting. Liza demanded Adam talk to the woman, or she was cutting him off.

Lysistrata continued to question Adam. She asked if he missed the innocent days in childhood when people could just exist and enjoy experiences as they happened and didn't know who they would grow up to be. Adam replied he didn't know because that was no resemblance to his childhood. He had worked hard during his childhood because he had known exactly what he had wanted and what it would take to get there, especially after his father had died. The therapist told Adam he took control of things. Adam replied he knew what could happen when he lost control.

Lysistrata further questioned, "Even if the person you control is the woman you love?" Adam responded, "I let her tie my hands, didn't I?" The therapist concluded he hadn't been comfortable because he hadn't had control. Adam commented it had never occurred to him that he controlled everything. Lysistrata sounded a gong and exclaimed, "Breakthrough!"

At Pine Valley Hospital, David was checking the baby's heart rate, and it was pronounced normal. Anna lamented she would have to stay in bed for the duration of the pregnancy but realized it was important for the baby's health. David left room and saw Aidan and Maureen approaching Anna's room. Aidan asked David if he should thank him or put his head through a wall. Aidan asked how the baby was doing, and David told him she was well.

Aidan went into Anna's room. Anna was napping and awoke seeing him sitting by her bed. She was pleased to see him and that he was all right. She wondered how Maureen was, and Aidan said she was okay. Anna asked Aidan if he and David could get along with each other and to give David a break. Aidan said no because of what David had done to Maria. Anna wanted to know what that had been.

While Aidan was visiting Anna, David talked to Maria. He explained that Edmund had stolen the serum, and he'd had nothing to do with it. He wanted Maria not to tell Anna about the serum until after the baby was born. Maria promised David she wouldn't tell Anna, but she wasn't sure if Aidan would refrain from telling Anna about the serum. David suddenly panicked and raced into Anna's room.

Anna looked at David, startled. David covered and said he was worried she wasn't getting rest. Anna wanted to talk to Maureen alone. Maureen confirmed things were stronger between her and Aidan. Anna asked about Edmund. Edmund was not part of her future except for the kids, Maureen said. Suddenly, Anna gasped in pain. Maureen quickly ran out to the hospital hallway and got David to help Anna. It was the baby. Anna was going into labor.
