Liam told Steffy and Hope about Thomas' threats, but Thomas claimed that Liam was exaggerating. Thomas planted insecurities about Steffy and Liam into Hope's head. Liam proposed marriage to Hope but said she had to leave HFTF and Douglas for it to work. When Hope couldn't agree to those terms, Liam spent the night on Steffy's couch. Thomas convinced Steffy to help him push Hope and Liam over the edge. Steffy and Thomas set Hope up to witness a kiss between Steffy and Liam, and Hope walked out on her relationship with Liam. Brooke and Ridge discussed what it would take for him to return home.

"Hope" attempted to fire a suspicious Rafe, but department policy thwarted her plan. Xander told Ben that he would hurt Ciara if she did not back off of her investigation. After Ciara confronted Victor about framing Ben, he had a stroke and was rushed into surgery. "Steve" told Kayla that he was in love with another woman, but he refused to tell her who. Kristen made a deal with Gabi to secure a job at Basic Black with Brady. Gabi ordered Lani to leave town; she pretended to cooperate, but she instead stayed with J.J. and told him her secret. Sonny told Evan that he was not ready to get involved until he was divorced, and Evan said he would wait for Sonny. Nicole lied to Kristen and told her that she and Brady were a couple. Jack had an ugly fight with Steve, and he told Kayla to steer clear of her ex. Chad asked Kristen to stop playing games and give him her stock shares. Ben lost his last appeal. Victor asked Xander to tell Ciara the truth. Gina decided that "Marlena must die." Stefano revealed himself to Kristen.

Laura was overjoyed when she saw that Nikolas was alive, but her happiness was short-lived when she learned that Nikolas had chosen to remain "dead" until he could take Valentin down. Laura and Lulu blasted Nikolas for needlessly hurting Spencer. Nikolas informed Valentin that Valentin was not a Cassadine. According to Nikolas, Valentin was Helena's son. Valentin tried to slip out of town with Charlotte, but Jordan caught up with him at the town's square and arrested him. Nikolas and Ava were married. Ava invited Liesl to stay at Wyndemere as a chaperon because Ava refused to turn over the codicil until she and Nikolas had signed a post-nuptial agreement. An enemy made a move against Sonny. Gladys gave Sonny some information about a doctor in New York City who might be able to help Mike. Jason and Sam offered to assist Robert in exposing Peter's crimes against Andre and Drew in exchange for Robert assigning a new parole officer to Sam's case. Finn was uneasy when Anna neglected to tell Mac about Peter's connection to the gunman at the hospital. Lucy was impressed with Maxie's business acumen and offered her a job at Deception. Jordan learned that someone from her past had died from an opioid overdose.

Tessa told Mariah that she'd never been in love with Tanner, but they'd impulsively gotten married in a drunken ceremony. Mariah struggled with the lie of omission, but she eventually encouraged Tessa to go on tour with Tanner. Mariah was touched to receive Tessa's journal as a birthday gift. Mariah and Tessa shared a heartfelt goodbye when Tessa left to go on tour. Sharon underwent a mammogram and ultrasound, and the radiologist recommended that she get a biopsy. Rey worried about Sharon's distracted behavior, but she continued to hide her medical concerns from him. Sharon and Nick remembered Cassie on her birthday. Connor was moved to tears when he learned that Chelsea was moving in with Adam permanently. Chelsea and Adam reunited and made love. Chloe became incensed when she learned of Chelsea's reconciliation with Adam. Victor agreed to Adam's request that Adam and Chelsea be included in Newman family events. Devon and Nick decided to pursue Elena's idea of opening a free medical clinic, and they enlisted Nate's help. Devon hired Chance to investigate Amanda. Billy tried to define his relationship with Amanda, but she preferred not to overanalyze it. Billy became uncomfortable when Sharon spotted him having coffee with Amanda. Amanda confided in Billy about her controlling ex-fiancé. Phyllis schemed to spend time alone with Chance. Lola planned a private birthday celebration for Kyle.
