Quinn failed to talk Carter out of proposing marriage to Paris, who was blown away by the idea that Carter seriously wanted to marry her. Irate about the proposal, Grace tried her best to talk Paris out of a disastrous situation. When that didn't work, Grace appealed to Zende to save Paris. Believing Paris had made her choice, Zende refused to grovel. Ridge pressed Carter to tell the truth about his feelings for Paris and Quinn. Carter confessed to loving Quinn but refused to back down from his imminent wedding plans. Just as Li gained Sheila's trust, Li blew it by attempting to call the police. Li escaped Sheila's grasp, but during a car chase, Sheila rammed her car into Li's. Li's car burst into flames and plunged into a body of water.

Esme questioned Kevin about Ryan under the guise of a college project, but Kevin warned Esme that Ryan was a psychopath -- and to stay away from Ryan. Kevin was furious when he learned that Esme had ignored his wishes about Ryan, so he had Esme fired from Spring Ridge and barred her from gaining access to his brother. Cody learned about Britt's past and her connection to Faison. Cody decided to stay in Port Charles a while longer. Laura suspected that Victor had been behind the attempts on Laura and Martin's lives, so she took steps to have Victor deported for "moral turpitude." An organization called Friends of Port Charles filed a petition to have Laura recalled as mayor. Cyrus was transferred to Pentonville Prison, and he offered assistance to Friends of Port Charles. Scott proposed marriage to Liesl, but she turned him down. Valentin and Anna spent a romantic evening at the drive-in. A vote to remove Valentin as head of ELQ failed because Ned and Lucy voted against Michael and Drew. Jordan talked to Linc about dropping the assault charges against Chase. Willow struggled with fatigue and lightheadedness.

Adam suspected that Victor had only appointed him as Newman's CEO to lure Victoria back into the fold, but he intended to prove himself to be the best person for the job. Victor enlisted Michael's help to thwart Victoria and Ashland's plans to start a new business venture. After Naya suffered a stroke, Amanda grappled with whether to leave town to care for her mother. Elena was invited to speak at a medical convention in Hawaii, but Nate opted to stay in town to focus on his job. Imani overheard Elena mention that Nate wouldn't be making the trip with her.
