Brooke told Hope the whole story about New Year's Eve and set out to talk to Douglas about what he'd seen. Douglas was at a dinner party, regaling everyone with his tale of Grandma kissing Santa, when Hope called him home for a talk. Brooke advised Douglas that the past was gone, and he didn't have to talk about what he'd seen; however, Thomas managed to get Douglas to reveal that he'd seen Brooke kissing Deacon in a Santa hat. Grace was confused when she saw Zende leaving on a date with a model. To her dismay, Grace learned from Paris that Paris and Zende had cooled down their romance. Grace asked Carter to talk to her daughter about what a good man Zende was, but Grace had a rude awakening when she walked in on Paris and Carter kissing.

Jennifer Smith had an ulterior motive when she made an appearance at Luke's memorial service. The teens arrived at the mountain cabin for their weekend getaway, and Esme didn't waste any time sowing seeds of doubt. Trina had a bad reaction to a drug that Esme slipped into Trina's drink. Josslyn confronted Spencer about Esme, but he reluctantly sided with his girlfriend. Cameron and Josslyn made love for the first time, but they were unaware that Esme had set up a camera to record them. Victor told Peter that he had found Louise. Peter vowed to punish Maxie for keeping their daughter from him. Peter saw Louise. Valentin pieced together that "Bailey" was really Louise. Victor abducted Valentin. Maxie returned to Pautauk with Austin, and the two shared a passionate kiss. Austin confided to Britt that his brother was on the autism spectrum. After a talk with Laura, Martin recused himself from Peter's defense. Sonny spiraled into a manic episode, but Nina managed to persuade him to call Dr. Sullivan. Sonny had an important conversation with Brando. Ned and Olivia talked to Leo about their plans for a vow renewal and for Ned to adopt Leo. Curtis filled Aunt Stella in about Marshall's reason for walking out on the family.

Victoria sued Newman Media for the use of the Newman name. Sally was disappointed when Adam agreed to let Chelsea relocate Newman Fashion. Adam warned Sally against going to war with Chelsea. A frustrated Chloe gave up on trying to help Chelsea. Adam was surprised to learn Victor had hired Michael. Victor accepted Victoria's offer to buy Newman Media, under the condition that Adam remain on board. Ashland disapproved of Victoria finalizing the deal without his input, noting that he would have outlined the terms of Adam's employment. Victoria objected to Ashland making business plans without her knowledge. Victoria threw the Newman Media deal in Adam's face before Victor had a chance to tell him. Amanda and Michael tried to dissuade Phyllis from taking a job with Marchetti in Milan. Phyllis decided to take an exploratory trip to Italy to find out more about the opportunity. Phyllis was dismayed when Jack didn't attempt to talk her out of leaving town. Abby, Chance, and Devon reached a formal agreement to share custody of Dominic. Devon was thrilled when Abby and Chance allowed Dominic to spend the night with him. Abby struggled with being separated from her son. Chance read a letter from the wife of one of his colleagues who'd perished in Spain, imploring him not to blame himself. Noah was crushed when he walked in on Mariah giving Tessa an engagement ring. Tessa later found Noah drowning his sorrows in alcohol, and he alluded to his feelings for her.
