When is the Lilo and Stitch live-action coming out?

The film is set to be released on May 23, 2025, in theaters. Disney announced the release date and the 1st look of the film at the D23 event in August 2024. The news was also shared on its official social media: “Experiment 626 has entered the chat! The live-action #LiloAndStitch is coming only to theaters in Summer 2025!" On May 12, 2025, Disney released the 1st trailer of the film which is set to be released on the Memorial Day Weekend.
The trailer of the film shares glimpses of the upcoming live-action film. The trailer shows a young Hawaiian girl, Lilo, making a wish on a shooting star for a best friend because she is lonely and has no friends. She unexpectedly meets a blue alien named Stitch and they become friends. In the trailer, Lilo is seen convincing her older sister, Nani, to let Stitch stay with them. Stitch can be seen doing mischievous things in the trailer.

In January 2023, Zach Galifianakis joined the cast of Lilo & Stitch and he will be playing the role of Dr. Jumba Jookiba in the film. Maia Kealoha will be playing the main role of Lilo Pelekai in the film and she joined the cast in March 2023. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kealoha shared that she auditioned for Lilo’s role 15 times and was speechless and crying when she got the part.
Sydney Agudong will be playing the role of Lilo's older sister Nani. Chris Sanders will return as the voice of Stitch, a role he has played since the 2002 film. The supporting cast includes Kaipo Dudoit as Nani’s love interest, David Kawena, and Courtney B. Vance as Cobra Bubbles, Lilo's social worker.
