On Wednesday, March 1, All My Children alum Michael B. Jordan received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
It is the latest honor for one of Hollywood's biggest stars, whose latest movie, Creed III, opens in theaters this week. The film also marks Jordan's directorial debut.
Jordan has come a long way since he made his debut on All My Children in 2003, a role that perhaps paved the way to the type of career that he did not want to have.
In a 2015 GQ interview, Jordan blasted his role as Reggie Montgomery on AMC, calling it "a fu*king stereotypical black role in a soap opera." He added that his soap role showed him the types of roles he did not want to play.
More recently, though, Jordan has been able to look back at his time in daytime and find humor in it. When he hosted Saturday Night Live in January, Jordan played a clip of his 16-year-old self playing Reggie. In the scene, Reggie says, "sometimes the animal in me gets kind of crazy" and then howls life a wolf at the end of the scene. After the clip ended, Jordan mused, "I'm pretty sure I hit puberty mid-howl."
Jordan sported a bright blue Versace suit jacket with matching pants to the ceremony, a white crew neck T-shirt, and a pair of Christian Louboutin boots. There, Ryan Coogler and Jonathan Majors spoke about the man that they had gotten to know.
Coogler recalled his first meeting with Jordan at a Starbucks near Universal Studios before working together on Fruitvale Station. Coogler said they instantly connected over books and their families.
Majors, meanwhile, said, "I'm extremely honored to call you my friend... no man on the planet deserves it more... I love you to the moon and back."
If you are headed to Los Angeles, you can find Jordan's star cemented in front of Funko Hollywood, located at 6201 Hollywood Blvd.
