"More discussions" happening at ABC on reboot of All My Children, One Life to Live

Could 2020 be the year that All My Children and One Life to Live come back from the dead? ABC exec Karey Burke opens up about the network's current discussions on the soaps' futures.

The daytime community is holding out hope that All My Children and One Life to Live may one day see life again, and an ABC executive is continuing to drop crumbs that make it seem like reboots of the long-running soap operas may actually come to fruition.

As Soap Central previously reported, Karey Burke, President, ABC Entertainment, spoke about the future of AMC and OLTL at last summer's TV Critics summer press tour, teasing that the network was actively exploring revival options and that they were "looking at everything, other models and ways of telling those stories."

It's been many months since those exciting comments, so where does ABC now stand on the resurrection of AMC and OLTL, which ended their runs in 2011 and 2012, respectively? Soaps In Depth asked Burke for an update, and what she had to say is positive -- albeit extremely vague.

"There have been more discussions," Burke told the publication. "But I can't tell you more than that."

Execs at ABC aren't the only ones talking about the possible reboots of its popular soaps. AMC stars Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane) and Walt Willey (ex-Jackson Montgomery) recently appeared on The Dr. Oz Show and chatted about their feelings on potentially returning to Pine Valley.

Would you like to see AMC and OLTL rebooted? If so, how would you prefer to see the shows come back to life: on ABC, on Disney+, on another streaming platform, or something else? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
