AMC gets another big reunion special

ABC talk show Strahan and Sara (formerly GMA Day) is hosting an All My Children reunion next week with Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane), Walt Willey (ex-Jackson Montgomery), Jacob Young (ex-J.R. Chandler), and more.

For the second time in the last few months, several stars from All My Children are reuniting to give fans the Pine Valley feels. The ABC talk show Strahan and Sara -- formerly called GMA Day -- is hosting the special reunion this Monday, February 11, and many stars from the now-defunct soap are taking part in the event.

Walt Willey (ex-Jackson Montgomery) took to social media to share that he will be joined by Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane), Cady McClain (ex-Dixie Cooney Martin), Eva La Rue (ex-Maria Santos), and Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery) for the reunion. Meanwhile, Jacob Young (ex-J.R. Chandler; Rick Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful) shares he and Jill Larson (ex-Opal Cortlandt) will be taking part in the Pine Valley fun, as well.

As fans recall, ABC canceled All My Children back in 2011 and temporarily handed over rights to the show and its sister soap, One Life to Live, to Prospect Park. The Disney-owned network has since regained the rights to both shows, and the upcoming AMC reunion is the first time since the show's cancellation that many of the series stars are back on ABC together.

Strahan and Sara's AMC reunion special comes on the heels of an AMC reboot featured on the Halloween 2018 episode of Live! with Kelly and Ryan. Co-host Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley Santos) headed back to her Pine Valley stomping grounds along with her former colleagues Lucci, LaRue, Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart), and Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo Santos), as well as AMC fan Andy Cohen.

Catch the special AMC reunion on Strahan and Sara next Monday, February 11, at 1PM EST, 12PM CST/PST (which Willey points out used to be AMC's old time slot) only on ABC.

UPDATE (February 11, 2019): If you missed the AMC reunion, we've posted clips from the Strahan and Sara reunion below. Despite the seemingly perfect timing, ABC did not, as our Dan J Kroll suggested, announce plans for an All My Children reboot.

What do you think about ABC's Strahan and Sara hosting an All My Children reunion? Could the network be "testing" current viewer interest in the former soap opera?
