Eddie Matos hired as AMC minister

All My Children has cast a three soap vet for the newly created role of a Pine Valley minister. Eddie Matos, who has appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful, Port Charles, and General Hospital, will take on the role of Ricky. But the question remains: who is in need of a minister and why?

Port Charles and General Hospital alum Eddie Matos has landed a recurring role on another ABC soap -- All My Children.

Matos has been tapped to play the role of Ricky Torres. According to an AMC spokesperson, Ricky is "a minister who will lend support to one of Pine Valley's prominent residents."

A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Matos played the role of Ricky Garza on Port Charles from December 2001 to October 2003. Despite having appeared as his Port Charles alter ego on PC's sister soap, General Hospital, Matos was still hired as the newly created GH character, Peter Marquez, in 2006 and 2007.

In addition to his work on the three ABC soaps, Matos also appeared as Charlie Espinada on CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful in 2001. Outside of daytime, Matos has made several guest-starring appearances in primetime. Most recently, he popped up as Felipe on the FOX medical drama, House. In 2007, Matos starred in the short-lived series Cane. Matos has also appeared in commercials for State Farm insurance.

Matos will first air on December 7.
