Hattie convinced Bonnie to turn herself in and return to prison with her. Belle and Sami made up. A DNA test confirmed that the burned man was E.J. Susan discovered that E.J. was alive, and she attempted to steal him from the hospital. Sami appealed to Susan and convinced her to let Sami take E.J. to Italy for treatment. After Hattie and John's annulment, Abe married Marlena and John in the square. Ciara and Ben almost kissed. Tripp admitted to Claire that he had framed Ben. Hope and Rafe suspected Tripp had planted evidence. Chad paid Ben to help him kidnap Abigail. Abigail went into labor while locked in a cabin with Chad.

Spencer meddled with his grandmother's election, but the virus he downloaded in one of the ballot machines was quickly detected, and the election was put on hold. Ned and Laura vowed to find the culprit responsible for the crime. Ryan kept a hit list in a box filled with each of his victims' identification badges. Jordan and Chase asked Franco for insight into the mind of Mary Pat's killer. Franco warned that the killer would not stop then advised Jordan to talk to "Kevin." Ryan was disappointed when Ava expressed her disgust at finding a headless corpse in her gallery. DNA tests revealed that the blonde strands of hair found clutched in Mary Pat's hand belonged to Carly. Curtis, Jason, and Sam went undercover to snoop around Ferncliff. Jason and Sam were startled when they discovered that Nelle had been admitted, but they quickly exposed her attempt to feign a breakdown. Sonny wore a wire and confronted Jeanette about her affair with Joe Scully. Jeanette was evasive until Margaux stepped forward and demanded the truth. Michael was pleasantly surprised when he bumped into Willow at Kelly's. Daisy gave Kristina a copy of an inspirational book titled Every Day is a New Dawn. Sasha made a pass at Griffin.

Phyllis and Nick had sex in his office. Jack found Phyllis' identification badge on Nick's couch. Billy and Sharon commiserated over Phyllis and Nick's cheating ways. Sharon blew up when she spotted Nick and Phyllis at Crimson Lights together, and Rey comforted Sharon. Rey and Sharon almost kissed, but they pulled back before crossing the line. Phyllis was impressed by Kerry's ideas to revamp Jabot's product lines. After getting off on the wrong foot with Kerry, Jack invited her to attend the Jaboutique launch party with him. Arturo discovered a watch in the park with the inscription, "Love, Mac." Sharon was relieved when Rey informed her that the commission was about to shut down his investigation into J.T.'s disappearance. Arturo told Rey about the watch, and Rey linked it to J.T. after questioning Mac. Rey held a press conference to declare J.T.'s case a murder investigation. Sharon attempted to resign from her job. Sharon and Rey admitted to having feelings for one another, but they agreed that it was wrong to act on them. Rey convinced Sharon to stay on at the police station. Kyle and Lola grew closer, but she declined his offer to invest in her business. Mariah and Tessa decided to move in together. Tessa secretly stashed a bag of cash in her closet. Cane considered moving his family to be closer to Lily, but Devon talked him out of it.
