Daytime stars Eileen Davidson and Josh Swickard team up as mother and son in Netflix's latest holiday movie set in California's picturesque wine country.

On Wednesday, December 13, Netflix began streaming the holiday movie Holiday in the Vineyards, starring The Young and the Restless' Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) and General Hospital's Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase). Rounding out the daytime lineup is Annika Noelle (Hope Logan, The Bold and the Beautiful).

Davidson learned about the project from her representative. Luckily, Davidson was available and interested. "We were able to swing it, so it was great that it just kind of worked out," Davidson told Digest. The actress noted that the production company had a pretty good track record with their Christmas movies reaching number one on the major streaming services.

Davidson plays Margo Baldwyn, a self-made woman and the head of a wine empire in California's picturesque wine country, who worked hard to get where she is. The actress describes the widow as someone with a bit of an edge who tends to lean a little on the ruthless side because her company is the most important thing to her. However, Margo has a ne'er-do-well son, whom she wants to take a more active role in the family business.

Swickard plays Carter Baldwyn, Margo's son. According to Davidson, Carter is a playboy and partier who isn't keen on helping out when his mother puts him in charge of securing the winning bid for a family-owned winery that's up for sale. The plan is for Carter to pose as a carpenter so that he can infiltrate the winery. "Carter basically doesn't understand why his mom doesn't send one of her minions to take care of this, but she hopes that one day he'll take over the whole operation," Davidson explained.

Davidson revealed that she shot her scenes quickly, but she enjoyed getting to know her fellow daytime actors. "It was really fun working with Josh and Annika," Davidson shared.

As for Swickard, this is not his first holiday flick. He previously starred in Netflix's A California Christmas and the sequel A California Christmas: City Lights. He had nothing but praise for Davidson whom he described as "phenomenal." Even though Swickard hadn't met Davidson before working on the film, he said that she was kind and considerate, and he enjoyed working with her. Swickard admitted that he hoped they would have another opportunity to work together because she's an awesome and sweet person.

Swickard was a stranger to Noelle, as well, but within ten minutes of meeting each other, Swickard and Noelle discovered that they had tons of mutual friends. "She was so sweet and another one I really hope to cross paths with in the near future," Swickard said.

As for his character, Swickard concedes that Carter is a bit of a playboy who is living off his family at an age where he should be more independent. In the movie, Carter has to prove that he's loyal to his family and willing to work. "It's just a happy, feel-good Christmas movie and hopefully, it will put a smile on some faces!" Swickard concluded.
