Soap opera fans already know that Wally Kurth rocks as General Hospital's Ned Quartermaine and Days of our Lives' Justin Kiriakis, but he's about to rock even more in The Day Players, the new band he has formed with Brandon Barash (Jake DiMera, DAYS; ex-Johnny Zacchara, GH), Eric Martsolf (Brady Black, DAYS), and Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera, DAYS).
Martsolf previewed the guys' new endeavor, telling Soap Hub, "The name for the band was a no-brainer! We are all technically 'day players' by profession, and our collective love for music solidified this decision to create the group. Each member represents a different generational age, which adds to this group's flavor and versatility."
The actor shares that The Day Players will perform something for everyone with favorites from multiple genres and decades, some of which will have acoustic flair. He also adds that the formation of the band was the actors' way of showing love to their loyal fans.
"The Day Players' intention is to spread our love of music and storytelling to a city near you. It's also our way of reaching out and saying thank you for the undying support our fanbases have displayed over the years," he enthuses. "Just as daytime television has provided much-needed escapism for millions of viewers, we intend to provide that much-needed 'night out' which so many deserve -- an evening of music, laughter, and togetherness."
The Day Players will begin their first tour in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on September 15. They'll then hit up Bellmore, New York, on September 16; Bridgeport, Connecticut, on September 17; and Beverly, Massachusetts, on September 18.
