Get ready to celebrate the upcoming tenth anniversary of The Bay in a big way. The Emmy-winning digital drama is honoring its ten years of existence with a special tribute to fans.
Announced today via a press release, The Bay -- which debuted on September 15, 2010 -- is set to take fans down memory lane by releasing "favorite 'classic' moments" from the soap on Instagram TV starting this Thursday, March 26, and continuing every Throwback Thursday and Flashback Friday to follow, through mid-September. The classic moments will retell "the compelling story of the denizens of Bay City from the very beginning."
Created by Gregori J. Martin, The Bay stars Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Brady, Days of our Lives) as wealthy socialite Sara Garrett, and Kristos Andrews as her youngest "golden boy" son Pete Garrett. It is set in the posh seaside town of Bay City, where the privileged residents are entangled in one scandal, betrayal, or love affair after another.
Some other stars of the series include Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux, DAYS), Scott Bailey (ex-Sandy Foster, Guiding Light), Terri Ivens (ex-Simone Torres, All My Children), Lilly Melgar (ex-Lily Rivera, General Hospital), Ronn Moss (ex-Ridge Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful), Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio, GH; ex-Colin Atkinson, The Young and the Restless), Brittany Underwood (ex-Langston Wilde, One Life to Live), and Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie Spencer, GH).
The Bay premiered in 2010 on Blip.tv and was rereleased on Amazon Prime Video in 2016, where it continues today. The digital series has been a huge Daytime Emmy success, garnering 15 wins in the Digital Daytime Drama Category, with 36 total Emmy nominations. The show also inspired an upcoming spinoff called yA (a working title) that will center around twins played by former Y&R stars Bianca and Chiara D'Ambrosio (ex-Summer Newman).
