Toni Bua, who played Tess Randolph on CBS' former soap opera, Love of Life, has passed away. The actress was 68.
Bua got her start in the entertainment world playing Tess on the now-defunct daytime drama, which starred fan favorites like John Aniston (Victor Kiriakis, Days of our Lives), Ray Wise (Ian Ward, The Young and the Restless), and Christopher Reeve (Superman). She had several popular storylines with her real-life husband, Gene Bua (Bill Prentiss), that included soap staples like murder trials and painful separations.
Gene's Love of Life character died of a rare blood disease in 1972, and Bua's Tess left the fictional town of Brownsville in 1973. After departing Love of Life, the real-life couple opened an acting school called Bua Acting For Life. They also wrote, composed, directed, and produced many famous musicals together. Gene passed away from Parkinson's disease in 2012.
Bua's other acting credits include A Hatful of Rain, Somerset, and The Next Step Beyond.
