Who is Chandler in Friends?

Chandler Bing is a fictional character and is one of the main characters of the American sitcom Friends. Chandler's role has been recognized as one of the most sarcastic and humorous in the series. The character of Chandler Bing has been on the show since season one as a best friend of Ross Geller and he also develops a deeper brotherly connection with Joey Tribbiani in the series.

While not revealed initially, Chandler Bing’s full name was known as Chandler Muriel Bing, and he is known as the son of Nora Tyler Bing, an erotic novel writer, and Charles Bing, a gay celebrity performer at the famous Las Vegas drag show called "Viva Las Gay-gas". Throughout the series, Chandler Bing has been highly sarcastic and often claims that it was a defense mechanism ever since his parents had a divorce.

What is Chandler Bing’s career in Friends?

Apart from Ross and Monica Geller, Chandler Bing is the only person in the Friends group who is known to have a stable and high income. For most of the series, we have seen Chandler work in the statistical analysis and data reconfiguration department where he was receiving steady growth. While he was successful in the field, Chandler claimed that he was bored out of the job and wanted to leave, but was “too afraid” to quit. At a point in his career, Chandler was even promoted as a boss of his former coworkers.

During the season 9 episode titled "The One Where Emma Cries", Chandler Bing was seen sleeping in one of the meetings of his office, which resulted in him accidentally agreeing to get a transfer to Tulsa leaving Monica (his wife by then) behind. Even though the job was well paid and secure, the fact of being away from his wife during Christmas was something that Chandler did not want, resulting in him quitting his job.

After quitting his job in Tulsa, Chandler grew interested in working in advertising as a writer which was a position that he received through Monica’s old co-worker. While initially Chandler started as an intern in the firm, his mature ideas, thought process, and work ethic secured a permanent job for him in the industry making as much as or even more income than his previous career.

Who does Chandler Bing end up with in Friends?

In Friends, Chandler Bing ends up marrying one of his friends in the series - Monica Gellar, who is Ross’ sister. While Chandler has known Monica since the time he was friends with Ross in college, the character developed feelings for her during the time all the friends were in London for Ross’s marriage with Emily. While in London, none of the other friends had any idea that Monica and Chandler were having a relationship. It was in the episode, “The one where Everybody Finds Out” when the other members of the group found out that the duo were in a serious relationship.

It is during the end of season 7 when Chandler and Monica get married to each other. Due to complications in their health, it was revealed that Monica and Chandler were unable to bear any kids of their own and had to adopt a child. Amidst this, the couple also decided to vacate their apartment in New York and move to a bigger place to start their own family. By the end of the series, Chandler and Monica have twin babies naming them Jack and Erica.
