Eric refused to invoke the morality clause in Rick's contract. Ridge convinced Thomas, Steffy, and Liam to go ahead with the Forrester takeover, minus the relationship clause. Ridge made himself the CEO, Steffy the president, and Liam the vice president of Forrester. Ridge summed Eric to a meeting to inform him that his and Rick's time was over. Carter found Maya's hideout at Dayzee's and tried, to no avail, to convince her to remain in town. Nicole revealed Maya's whereabouts to Rick, and as Maya sat at a table, Rick arrived in a waiter's uniform, which was the same thing he'd been wearing when they'd first met.

Theresa used Tate as a way to get between Brady and Melanie. Theresa told Melanie she would leave town with Tate if Melanie did not leave Salem. Melanie refused to marry Brady as a way to ensure that he could have a better life with his son. Brady was furious with Theresa when he learned that she had tried to force Melanie to leave town. Kimberly and Brady battled. Kimberly and Victor let their past stand in the way of Tate's future. Hope and Rafe secretly joined forces to find out more about Clyde. Clyde pushed Aiden to be his lawyer in all legal matters. Victor pulled rank on Justin and Kate. Serena told Nicole it would be a mistake to get involved with Xander. Paige was furious with Jennifer for lying to her. J.J. and Eve were frantic to find Paige. Melanie shocked Brady with the news that she would be leaving Salem.

Franco made an impassioned plea for Nina to annul her marriage to Ric because Franco was certain that Ric had married Nina to get his hands on her fortune, but Nina refused, despite not having consummated her marriage to Ric. Ric secretly met with Madeline Reeves. Shawn pleaded guilty to attempted murder charges rather than accept Scott's offer to testify against Sonny in exchange for full immunity. Jordan was surprised when Shawn decided not to tell T.J. that he was T.J.'s father, but Shawn explained that he didn't want T.J. to suffer the loss of another father when Shawn went to Pentonville. Carlos haunted Anna and taunted her for murdering him. Kyle insisted Anna had nothing to feel guilty about because Carlos had been a criminal who had pulled the trigger on Duke. Kyle arranged for everyone to believe that Carlos had fled the country. Mayor Lomax fired Kyle for failing to properly do his job. Elizabeth was elated when Jake revealed that he was a free man because Kyle had agreed let Jake walk away from their plea agreement without repercussions. Julian announced to his family that he intended to leave the mob. The Jerome family was shocked when a woman bearing a striking resemblance to Ava turned up on Julian's doorstep, looking for answers. Delia made a timely appearance to explain why a DNA test revealed that Denise and Ava were closely related. Lulu was not pleased when Valerie decided to apply for a job at the police station. Lucas questioned Brad's reluctance to involve Brad's family in the wedding plans. Luke vanished from the sanitarium.

Tobias threatened to reveal the secrets of the Abbotts and the Newmans at the party to celebrate the merger. A drunken Tobias crashed his car, and he said Austin's name before he died. Kevin and Mariah found evidence in Tobias' motel room that implicated Tobias as the killer. The police considered the case closed, but Kevin suspected the real killer was still out there. Neil punched a man who was hitting on a drunken Nikki, and Neil was arrested. Neil discovered that Nikki had taken the stranger back to her hotel room. After Nikki's friends and family staged an intervention, Nikki agreed to seek treatment. Joe checked out of the rehab center and moved in with Avery. Joe's progress appeared to have stalled, but when he was alone, he stood on his own. Joe attempted to make a pact with Sharon to keep Dylan and Avery apart. Nick agreed to ask the judge to let Faith spend one night a week with Sharon. Sharon suggested Dylan move in with her, but he wasn't ready yet. Jack stowed away on an illegal cargo ship, and he was haunted by visions of Kelly. Men on the ship found Jack and believed he was Marco. Abby was uncomfortable when she learned Ashley had feelings for Stitch. Stitch discovered that Ashley was taking serious medication. Adam unknowingly revealed his true identity to Marco.
