Beloved daytime star Kristen Alderson (ex-Kiki Jerome, General Hospital; ex-Starr Manning, One Life to Live) has an exciting new project on the horizon. She's starring in an upcoming Las Vegas run of Newsical the Musical.
The Off-Broadway hit is described as a musical mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof, from the highest office in the land to the lowest depths of Internet conspiracies -- including Britney Spears's and Adele's Vegas residencies. Frequently compared to Saturday Night Live and The Daily Show, Newsical the Musical changes weekly as it lampoons current events, politics, entertainment, influencers, TikTok crazes, and everything in between.
The Las Vegas engagement will feature Alderson opposite her real-life boyfriend, Taylor Crousore (A Musical About Star Wars), as well as her former Marvelous Wonderettes co-star Carly Sakolove (Mama Mia, The Book of Merman), and original Newsical cast member Michael West.

Newsical is the fifth longest-running musical in Off-Broadway history and the 2011 winner of the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical. Over the years, the show has welcomed several celebrity guests into its cast, including LaToya Jackson, Perez Hilton, Carson Kressley, Jackée Harry, Cheri Oteri, and Kandi Burruss.
Kristen Alderson joined the cast of OLTL in 1998, when she was just six years old. She remained with the show until its cancellation in 2012, at which point she took her long-running character to General Hospital. Unfortunately, GH was forced to take Starr off the canvas in 2013 due to a lawsuit with Prospect Park, but rather than fire Alderson, the powers that be created the new character of Kiki Jerome for the beloved actress to play.
Alderson stayed on at GH until 2015, when she decided to exit the drama so she could focus on other aspects of her life, such as spending quality time with her family and exploring other career avenues.
