Grab your tissues, Guiding Light fans. Nia Long (ex-Kat Speakes) is starring in Lifetime's upcoming remake of the classic 1988 film Beaches.
The New York native plays the role of Hillary, originally played by Barbara Hershey, while Idina Menzel plays the role of CC Bloom, originally played by Bette Midler, in the film that follows a lifelong friendship between two girlfriends.
Since leaving GL in 1993, Long went on to star in shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Judging Amy, Third Watch, Big Shots, House of Lies, The Divide, and Uncle Buck.
Beaches is set to premiere on Saturday, January 21, at 8/7C on Lifetime.
