Guiding Light vet Beth Chamberlin (Beth Raines) will appear in the December 7 (The episode will be rebroadcast on January 25, 2012) installment of NBC's long-running drama series, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Chamberlin plays the wife of a former football star who is exhibiting signs of dementia.
In the episode, when a 14-year-old girl is reported missing and later found to be working as a prostitute, the detectives set up a sting operation to arrest the Johns on statutory rape charges. One of the men arrested is aging pro quarterback Jake Stanton (played by guest star Treat Williams).
Detective Benson (Emmy winner Mariska Hargitay) and ADA Cabot (Stephanie March) seek to make an example out of the football legend, but the case is thrown into chaos when defense attorney Bayard Ellis (guest star Andre Braugher) questions Stanton's mental capacity after years of injuries on the field.
Chamberlin plays Georgia Stanton, the wife of Treat Williams' Jake Stanton.
Real-life football pros Jerry Rice and Warren Sapp also make special appearances.
Chamberlin debuted as Guiding Light's Beth in October 1989. In 2010, she received an Outstanding Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy nomination
