In the Mission: Impossible franchise, the role of Gabriel was introduced in the movie “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning”. The movie is the 7th part of the franchise. The movie stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Vanessa Kirby among many others. The movie was directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who has also written it alongside writer and showrunner Erik Jendresen.

His first big role was for the movie Bad Boys, which was released in 1983. Since then the actor has been seen in various movies like Rainy Day Friends, The Principal, Naked Tango, The Waiter, The Adventures of Tom Thumb and Thumbelina, Fast Food Nation, and many more.


Apart from being a movie star, Esai Morales has also been seen working on various television shows like The Burning Season, The Hunger, Freddie, Los Americans, Major Crimes, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, and many more. Who is Gabriel in Mission: Impossible?


Gabriel, introduced in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, is a powerful rogue agent and is revealed to be connected to Ethan Hunt’s past. He is depicted as the primary antagonist, working with the rogue artificial intelligence known as "The Entity", being deeply committed to the AI’s cause, believing in its predictive capabilities and superiority over humans.


In the movie, Gabriel manipulates events to bring things in his favor and secure the key that controls The Entity, going as far as eliminating anyone that gets in their way. In Dead Reckoning Part One, Gabriel has been matched with various opponents, one being Ilsa Faust, who is killed by the antagonist in a gruesome fight, putting Hunt on a path of tragedy and despair.
