He first began to hone his creativity when he was enrolled in a special music and art high school at a young age. Many celebrities' children attended this school, including Madonna's daughter Lourdes, whom he dated. In high school, Timothée played the lead in several school musicals. Following his high school graduation in 2013, he spent a year studying cultural anthropology at Columbia University. After that, he moved to the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where he could focus on his growing acting career.


Chalamet started his career as a child actor, appearing in many commercials. His first significant television appearance came in a "Law & Order" episode. Timothée then starred in the television movie "Loving Leah" before performing in an off-Broadway production of "The Talls." By 2012, he was landing regular roles in shows including "Homeland" and "Royal Pains." His role in Homeland gave him a chance to get more recognition, and he received numerous awards and recognitions for his performances.


He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor after gaining widespread recognition for his leading performance in Luca Guadagnino's 2017 film Call Me by Your Name.
