Reality TV star Teddi Mellencamp shared a positive update about her ongoing cancer treatment on April 23. Mellencamp, who shared the news that she had multiple tumors on her brain in February, took to Instagram today to share the latest news about her health with her fans and well-wishers.

Mellencamp, addressing her fans said,

“Really exciting news everyone! Honestly the crying is already done but I just finished with all of my scans, and my tumors have significantly shrunk which doctors believe means that this all will work, that I will back to my self and feeling good.”

Teddi Mellencamp went on to share the treatments that she had to undergo, saying,

“I have two more sessions of immunotherapy and then hopefully, I am done, and I will be cancer-free. I gonna keep a positive outlook because that’s the way my doctor just spoke to me. He’s like, ‘you did this, you got this’…he said, ‘You got that Mellencamp blood, so you’re good'."

In the caption of her video, Teddi Mellencamp shared more about her immunotherapy sessions and expressed her gratitude to everyone who wished her well through her cancer journey. She wrote,

"One update I couldn’t wait to share! All tumors stage 4 (metastasized melanoma in my brain and lungs) shrunk or disappeared so I have 6ish more weeks of immunotherapy and doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course. Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers, and positivity.”

Teddi Mellencamp’s journey with cancer, explored

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills opened up about her first brush with cancer in 2022. Teddi Mellencamp took to her social media to share her journey of being diagnosed with melanoma while getting her moles removed. As per People Magazine, while she revealed that she had a ‘melanoma in situ’ earlier, she shared that she had developed stage 2 melanoma. In an Instagram post educating people about melanoma, Mellencamp wrote,

“I got the call this morning: Stage 2 melanoma...Now, next Wednesday I go to an oncologist to have it cut out and come up with a game plan on next steps.”

Continuing, Mellencamp also advised her followers to obey doctors’ orders. She wrote,

“Moral of this story: if a doctor says, “come in every 3 months” please go in every 3 months. I so badly wanted to blow this off. “What could happen in 3 months?” I thought. Apparently a lot.”

According to People Magazine, Mellencamp also shared close-up images of the moles on her Instagram stories, showing her followers where the doctors had cut out the melanoma, and what it had looked like.

Later, in February 2025, Mellencamp shared a distressing health update with her followers. Taking to Instagram, she wrote,

“For the last several weeks I've been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches. Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization. After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months. Two of the tumors will be surgically removed today-The remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date.”

Recently, speaking in detail about the diagnosis to US Weekly, Mellencamp said,

“One day, I was like, something is really wrong. I couldn’t see…They diagnosed me with multiple brain tumors, but the [ER doctor] says he can’t take them out; they’ve got to get me into Cedars-Sinai [hospital]. And I’m like, ‘Can’t you get me in tonight? I want to go tonight.’ I had six brain tumors and two lung tumors; they all came from melanoma that metastasized into these tumors inside of my body.”

Teddi Mellencamp further shared that a surgeon removed four tumors from her brain. She also added on Instagram that she would be undergoing immunotherapy to remove the tumors in her brain and lungs that doctors are not able to remove through surgery.

Meanwhile, Mellencamp hasn’t refrained from posting images of herself with a shaved head after her surgery. She bravely puts a humorous spin on various aspects of dealing with cancer. Alongside an image of her short hair, she recently wrote,

“The other side of my head is completely bald. Please refer your fave non-itchy or hot wigs. Dear half-wig/half-baseball caps from Amazon… let’s do better. I was so excited for you. You hurt my feelings.”

In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Teddi Mellencamp also recounted that her husband, Edwin Arroyave, with whom she put her divorce on hold because of her diagnosis, had been a huge support for her during her difficult time.
