
Born November 11, 1974, Leonardo DiCaprio is an American actor and film producer who is best known for his roles in The Departed, The Wolf of Wall Street, and several other films. The actor made his debut in 1989 after appearing in television commercials during the 1980s. He then earned his first major film part in This Boy’s Life before his breakthrough role in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. That also earned him his first Academy Award nomination although he hit international stardom with his role in Titanic.

His mother, Irmelin, was a legal secretary while his father, George was an underground comix artist and distributor. The couple had only one son although they got divorced when DiCaprio was only one year old.
