Football wide receiver AJ Brown’s car reportedly got stolen on April 20, 2025, from Philadelphia. However, as per the latest updates, the car was found on April 21, 2025, in Camden, and the suspected thief has been placed under custody.

According to CBS Philadelphia, the suspect held the car for seven hours. He was charged with receiving stolen property and attempting to resist arrest.

The suspect was identified as Lewis Cigara, 25, after being spotted on a surveillance video. In a statement to the media outlet, the Chief Deputy Simpson said:

“Well, I believe he had the tracker, those type of vehicles you can track locations so that is very helpful for law enforcement when we conduct our investigations to where they can call in the real-time location and then we can follow up to confirm if it's there or not.”

AJ Brown’s car was a black Mercedes, which was located near Lewis and Morton streets, after being stolen. It was being tracked by Brown and the police as it was on its way from Haddonfield to Camden. As per a report by 6abc Philadelphia, Cigara parked the car almost a foot away from where Camden County police officers were stationed to monitor a construction site.

The officers had prior information about the missing vehicle. The pursuit of the suspect happened outside Bonita Banks-Goodman’s home, who said:

“I was scared because they had the sun guns and everything. I locked myself in the gate because there was a whole bunch of state troopers and stuff out here.”

The vehicle was reportedly not damaged and was returned safely to AJ Brown.
