Before entering the field of acting, the actor used to work as a busboy in New York to make ends meet. By 1986, Tom Cruise had won over the world as a celebrity after his performance in the movie Top Gun.


Tom Cruise was born on July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, New York, and was quite interested in being an actor as a youngster. It was after sixth grade when Tom, along with his mother and sisters, left his father and moved to New York to have a fresh start. During his senior year, Tom was seen playing football on various college teams as a linebacker but later was removed from the squad after getting caught consuming beer before a game. In 1980, Tom completed his education in New Jersey at Glen Ridge High School.

His first nomination was in 1990 when he was nominated for Best Actor in “Born on the Fourth of July”. Under the same category, Tom was later nominated for his role in Jerry Maguire in 1997.


Later, in 2000, Tom Cruise was nominated under the category of “Best Supporting Actor” for his performance in the movie Magnolia, which was released in 1999. It was 23 years later, in 2023, when Tom was nominated at the Oscars again as a producer for Top Gun: Maverick under the category of “Best Picture”.
