
Edward Harrison Norton is an American actor, producer, director, and screenwriter from the United States. He worked for a few months in Japan after earning a history degree from Yale College in 1991. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Manhattan to pursue an acting career.
His 1996 debut in Primal Fear brought him fame and critical acclaim, earning him a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and a nomination for an Academy Award in the same category. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of a reformed neo-Nazi in American History X (1998). Also, he starred in the cult-favorite 1999 movie Fight Club.
