Was Sophie Nyweide pregnant when she died? All we know as death certificates surfaces

Former child star Sophie Nyweide, who passed away on 14 April, is now reported to have been pregnant at the time of her death, according to TMZ. Nyweide, who was twenty-four years old, was found dead around 5 AM in a wooded area near her home in Bennington, Vermont. Her online obituary reads:

"Sophie was a kind and trusting girl. Often this left her open to being taken advantage of by others. She wrote and drew voraciously and much of this art depicts the depth she had and it also represents the pain she suffered. Many of her writings and artwork are roadmaps of her struggles and traumas. Even with those roadmaps, diagnoses, and her own revelations, those closest to her, plus therapists, law enforcement officers and others who tried to help her are heartbroken their efforts couldn't save her from her fate."

The obituary further continued:

"She self medicated to deal with all the trauma and shame she held inside, and it resulted in her death. She repeatedly said she would 'handle it' on her own and was compelled to reject the treatment that might possibly have saved her life. Sophie. A life ended too soon. May it not be in vain. May we all learn from her brief life on earth and do better. Yes, we must all protect our children and do better."

Sophie Nyweide was born on 8 July 2000 in Vermont. According to TMZ, although not much is known about the exact cause of her death, Sophie Nyweide's death is now being investigated by the police as possibly suspicious.

Sophie Nyweide had a short acting career that began when she was just six years old, when she was cast as the young Bella in Bell. Nyweide later went on to star in a string of movies like Mammoth, An Invisible Sign, Noah, Shadow & Lies, and Margot at the Wedding. She also has TV credits for appearances on Law & Order.

Her mother, Shelly Gibson, who is also an actress and has appeared in movies like All My Children and Dust to Malibu, released a statement to TMZ, saying that her daughter enjoyed her time as an actress and being on set.

"We are very distraught and mourning. All I can say is her time acting was brief but very happy. She wasn't a child star in the least and wasn't subjected to anything hurtful on those films. She was always safe on those sets. Please let her rest in peace now."

Her mother went on to say that she was doing drugs, as far as she knew. The investigation has not yet concluded. Shelly also stated that the results of the autopsy are still pending and may take up to six to eight weeks.

Earlier a statement was released to The Post by the Bennington police on 23 April. It read:

"This is a fluid investigation and we are still waiting on final autopsy and toxicology reports from the Vermont Office of Chief Medical Examiner."

According to TMZ, several people who were seen with Sophie Nyweide in the days before her death shall also be investigated. In her online obituary, her family has requested fans and well-wishers to make a donation to RAINN (R*pe, A*use, & I*cest National Network) in her name.
