The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) is doing everything it can to make this year's Daytime Emmy Awards as glitzy as possible despite once again facing COVID restrictions. One of the major moves the organization has made is locking in a star-studded list of presenters for the CBS broadcast, which is set to air on Friday, June 25.
The ceremony has once again been pretaped, but this year's show will be a hybrid of studio segments, remote presentations, and presubmitted acceptance speeches -- all of which will be anchored by presenters, some of whom will be present at the stage built for the show in Burbank, some of whom will be presenting from the stages of their own shows, and some of whom will be presenting from home.
"Daytime spans such a wide variety of genres, and while obviously Hollywood is the center of a lot of this, there's a lot of the daytime production that occurs outside of L.A.," NATAS director Steve Ulrich told Variety. "So, when we have the opportunity to have a presenter who is a big part of daytime and a boldface name, then we're using whatever technology is available to produce their presentation of an award. It's a bit of a mix. Those who are in the Los Angeles area, we are encouraging them to do their bits at ATI's studio."
No matter what, the show is certainly going to be entertaining. With the following list of presenters planned, how could it not be?
Presenters at the 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards include:
Additionally, Kathy Lee Gifford, Ken Jeong, Martha Stewart, and Robin Roberts are among the stars who will appear and help pay tribute to late daytime legends Regis Philbin, Alex Trebek, and Larry King. As Soap Central previously reported, B&B's Diamond White (Paris Buckingham) will sing a song for the In Memoriam segment that the actress will also score.
