The 44th Annual Daytime Emmys were handed out on April 30, 2017, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. It was a notable night of first-time winners and record breakers.

For the 44th time, the biggest stars in daytime television gathered to honor the best of the industry. While the ceremony may move from venue to venue each year -- this year's festivities were held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium -- for the 19th time, Soap Central was there to cover every angle of the Daytime Emmy ceremony.

"What a fantastic evening to be celebrating the life and blood of Daytime television in the magnificent Pasadena Civic Auditorium," said Bob Mauro, President, NATAS. "The National Academy is excited to be honoring these esteemed nominees, and we are thrilled to be honoring the woman who the whole country fell in love with when she first appeared on 'Entertainment Tonight,' Mary Hart. Mary's charm, wit, and intelligence made her the most trusted anchor in the genre of entertainment news. Tonight, we raise a glass to her long career and all the men and women who make Daytime television one of the staples of the entertainment industry."

With the sun beating down on the Red Carpet, dozens of stars from daytime took time out to chat with Soap Central about their characters, the routine for getting Emmy ready, and pretty much anything else that popped into the mind of our Dan J Kroll. In a new twist this year, the stars were also given the opportunity to ask questions to other stars.

This year's Emmy ceremony was livestreamed on both Facebook Live and Twitter. For an extra layer of coverage, Soap Central took to Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to share our own live coverage.

In the sections that follow, you'll be able to find out what winners shared with us backstage after winning Emmy gold, as well as photos, video, fashion, and other insights that you'll find only here on Soap Central. And be sure to keep checking back as we'll be posting additional coverage all week.
