Daytime Emmy nomination reaction: Younger Performer nominees

Posted Thursday, May 05, 2022 2:20:40 PM

They say it's an honor just to be nominated, but this year's Daytime Emmy nominees in the Outstanding Younger Performer category had a lot more to say than that. Check out how this year's nominees reacted to their nominations.

This year's Outstanding Younger Performer nominees are from three of the four soaps -- The Young and the Restless, Days of our Lives, and General Hospital. Three of the nominees are from GH. But no matter which soap these young stars call home, they are all equally excited to be nominated for daytime television's biggest honor: a Daytime Emmy.

Lindsay Arnold (Allie Horton, Days of our Lives)

Proving to be a woman of few words, Arnold offered a single word -- or it might be more of a sound effect -- in a post on Twitter. This marks Arnold's first Daytime Emmy nomination.

Nicholas Chavez (Spencer Cassadine, General Hospital)

"I’m incredibly honored to be nominated alongside such talented performers," the first-time nominee shared. "So grateful to my family, friends, fans and all of my collaborators at General Hospital."

Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith Newman, The Young and the Restless)

Lind, who has been nominated twice before, said that she was "so excited" by her third nomination. Lind earned a Younger Actress nomination in 2017 and was among the nominees in the first non-gender Younger Performer in 2021.

William Lipton (Cameron Webber, General Hospital)

This marks Lipton's third Daytime Emmy nomination, but only his second for acting. In 2020, Lipton earned a nod as a songwriter for his song "North Star," which appeared in an episode of General Hospital. This is the actor's first in the combined Younger Performer category, and he said he is "so excited and honored to be nominated together with all these amazing performers."

Sydney Mikayla (Trina Robinson, General Hospital)

"I JUST GOT NOMINATED FOR MY SECOND @daytimeemmys," the actress posted on Instagram. "[W]hat a way to wrap up my time on @generalhospitalabc! Thank you to my family, friends, and fans of the show who allowed me to continue to take on the role of Trina for three years ! Congrats to @williamlipton and @nicholasalexanderchavez as welllll !"
