Scott Powell Holroyd has joined the cast as Paul Ryan. Holroyd will tape his first scenes in mid-June, which puts hits first on-screen appearance is July 10th.
Holroyd reportedly beat out several daytime vets to land the role, including Kevin Stapleton (ex-Kevin, One Life to Live).
Holroyd is not a newcomer to the acting biz, however. He has appeared in the films The Program and Modern Love. On the small screen, he's been seen in Matlock and as a re-creation actor on America's Most Wanted.
Holroyd will become the seventh performer to play the part of Barbara's son. He follows Who's the Boss alum Danny Pintauro, who played the part from 1983-1985 and Andrew Kavovit, who held the role for six years from 1985 to 1991. The role was most recently played by John Howard in 1996.
