Slop is a specifically tailored meal introduced as a punishment for Houseguests in Big Brother: All Stars -Season 7 (2006). With an oatmeal-like consistency, it is formulated to provide the players with essential nutrients such as protein, vitamins, and minerals.
As a penalty meal, slop is intentionally bland and throughout the seasons contestants have attempted to enhance its flavor by adding permitted seasonings. It replaced the previous Peanut Butter and Jelly (PB&J) diet, which restricted certain houseguests to subsisting only on PB&J sandwiches.
Slop is primarily associated with Big Brother USA; though it has also featured in select seasons of Big Brother Canada. Moreover, many other international versions of the show impose their own food-based restrictions on players.
What is slop from Big Brother?

In a 2018 interview with Gold Derby, host Julie Chen Moonves was asked if she had ever tried slop. She described it as “not bad,” and compared it to “very dry oatmeal” with little flavor and a slightly gummy texture, depending upon the amount of water added to the mixture.
According to show rules, contestants placed on slop are only allowed to consume slop. Originally introduced as a punishment for losing the weekly Food Competition, slop exemptions were granted to the winners and the Head of Household (HOH). Starting with Big Brother- Season 11, the slop punishment was merged with the Have-Not system. The Have-Nots in the house must eat slop, not drink any juice or soda, sleep in the Have-Not Room, and take cold showers, among other restrictions.
The show also features Slop Passes or Never-Not Passes, which grant players absolute immunity from having to eat slop.
