Stranger Things is an American television series developed by the Duffer Brothers for Netflix.
The Sci-Fi horror set in the 1980s follows a set of strange and paranormal activities in the town of Hawkins, Indiana when a portal to another realm called the Upside Down is unintentionally opened in the human experimentation lab near Hawkins. This resulted in several attacks, deaths, and disappearances of the townspeople. In the fourth season of the show, the Upside Down is revealed to be an evil realm unknowingly opened by Eleven while trying to stop Vecna, the ruler of Upside Down.

William "Will" Byers, portrayed by Noah Schanpp, is Jonathan's younger brother and Joyce's youngest kid. He is a quiet, kind, and timid party member who is frequently ignored.

Lucas Sinclair, portrayed by Caleb McLaughlin, is Erica's older brother, the oldest child of Sue and Charles Sinclair, and a close friend of Dustin, Will, and Mike.
Millie Bobby Brown
Eleven, portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown, is the biological daughter of Terry Ives. She was born with telekinesis abilities, which caused her to be a part of the human experimentation lab among other children in the Hawkins lab. Being extraordinarily gifted, Eleven is the only opponent to the Upside Down. She eventually becomes Mike Wheeler's girlfriend and the adopted daughter of Jim Hopper.
Winona Rider
Joyce Byers, played by Winona Rider, is a simple woman living an average life in the town of Hawkins. She is the mother of Jonathan and Will Byers, the other two main characters in the show. Her ex-husband is Lonnie Byers. Joyce is a store clerk at Melvald's General Store in downtown Hawkins.
David Harbour
Hawkins' police chief James "Jim" Hopper, sometimes called "Hop” is portrayed by David Harbour. After attending high school with Joyce and Bob, Hopper has resided in Hawkins for almost his entire life.
Natalia Dyer
Nancy Wheeler, portrayed by Natalia Dyer, is Mike and Holly's older sister and the eldest daughter of Karen and Ted Wheeler. She was initially treated as an outcast in school until Steve Harrington took an interest in her.
Charlie Heaton
Jonathan Byers, portrayed by Charlie Heaton, is Joyce's eldest son and Will's elder brother. At Hawkins High, he is considered an outcast due to his shyness and reserved nature. He has a strong bond with his brother and mother and aspires to be a photographer.
Matthew Modine
Dr. Martin Brenner, better known as “Papa” led the operations and experiments conducted in the Hawkins lab of human experimentation. He is portrayed by Matthew Modine.
Sadie Sink
Maxine "Max" Mayfield is the tomboy of the group and an enthusiastic skateboarder. She is Billy's younger stepsister, and Susan Hargrove's biological daughter. She is portrayed by Sadie Sink.
Joe Keery
Steve Harrington, portrayed by Joe Keery, is the most popular student in school. He is often referred to as Steve “The Hair” Harrington.
Dacre Montgomery
William "Billy" Hargrove, portrayed by Dacre Montgomery, is Max's arrogant, violent, reckless, and impulsive stepbrother.
Sean Astin
Bob Newby, portrayed by Sean Astin, owns the Hawkins RadioShack and was formerly Joyce and Hopper's classmate. He mentors Will and ends up dating Joyce in Season Two.
Paul Reiser
Brenner is replaced at Hawkins Laboratory by Dr. Sam Owens, an official with the US Department of Energy. Owens is just as persistent and dedicated to scientific inquiry as his predecessor, but he has a lot more compassion for the Hawkins Lab people. He is portrayed by Paul Reiser.
Maya Hawke
Robin Buckley is Steve's coworker at the Starcourt Mall's ice cream parlor, "Scoops Ahoy!" She is portrayed by Maya Hawke.
Priah Ferguson
Erica Sinclair, portrayed by Priah Ferguson, is Lucas' younger sister and the youngest child of Sue and Charles Sinclair. She made an appearance as a recurring character in the second season, then in the third season, she was promoted to series regular.
Brett Gelman
Murray Bauman, portrayed by Brett Gelman, debuted in the show's second season. He is a conspiracy theorist and private investigator, who was brought in to look into Barbara Holland's disappearance.
Joseph Quinn
Edward "Eddie" Munson, portrayed by Joseph Quinn, is a quirky Hawkins High School student and president of Hawkins High's Dungeons & Dragons-themed "Hellfire Club", where he makes friends with Mike and Dustin.
Eduardo Franco
Argyle, portrayed by Eduardo Franco, is a student at Lenora Hills High School in Lenora Hills, California.
Jamie Campbell Bower
Vecna, also known as “One” is the main antagonist of the show. Formerly known as Henry Creel, he is the ruler of the Upside Down realm. He turns out to be the cause of everything that has frightened Hawkins in the past seasons, starting with Will's disappearance in Season 1.
