What happened to 1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton's husband, Caleb Willingham? 

Caleb Willingham made an appearance on 1000-lb Sisters when he married star Tammy Slaton. However, an unexpected news hit the happy couple just one year after tying the knot. It was about Caleb passing on.

As for the autopsy report acquired by In Touch, it stated that Caleb had died of his "morbid obesity", which was already a huge health concern for him. Tammy was also unaware of what exactly had happened to Caleb in his passing moments as he was attending rehab.

She had gotten a text from someone inside the facility when his health was acting up and things were taking a serious turn. But it all came crashing down in 20 minutes when the same person informed her via text that her husband is no more.

Sharing a statement about the whole situation, 1000-Lb Sister star Tammy said,

“I am devastated to share the news of my husband’s passing. He was my best friend, and I loved him dearly. When I met Caleb, he became my guardian angel and now he really is watching over me.”

1000-Lb Sisters - Tammy and Caleb's relationship explored

1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy was in rehab for her weight issues and food addiction. She was asked by the doctor to reduce a certain amount of weight before undergoing the surgery, but unlike her sister Amy, Tammy was struggling with the physical, and especially the mental aspect of it.

However, this sprouted an unlikely relationship that would turn into something huge down the line for her. Tammy met Caleb in rehab, and they both were in the facility for the same reasons. After their engagement, Tammy announced excitedly, saying,

"We’re engaged. I know it’s only been three weeks, but I’ve never felt this way about anybody. The last two relationships I was never this happy.”

The couple had planned their future together after being in rehab. They decided to get married upon being released and then also try for kids if their health was okay.

1000-Lb Sisters couple Tammy and Caleb got married in 2022. Tammy had dropped a significant amount of weight, which gave her a green card from rehab to leave and pursue the bariatric surgery. However, Caleb was not there yet and thus had to stay longer.

Apparently, there were some ongoing issues between the couple as they were dealing with separation during the time of his death inside the centre.

In a TikTok video that was released soon after his passing, Tammy shared about the problems and said that there were some ups and downs, but she said something about her husband at the moment.

She shared,

"I’m in the stages of grief. Yeah, we were having problems, but I loved that man and I still do. I miss him like crazy, but I wanted to thank everybody for your comments.”

1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy, after her surgery, has been leading a better life, and it was reported in 2024 that her total fat loss was 500 pounds. This was a huge, pivotal moment in her life and turned it towards a positive path with her health. She might soon get a skin-reducing surgery as well.
