The South Korean television series The Uncanny Counter features Jo Byeong-kyu, Yoo Jun-sang, Kim Se-jeong, Yeom Hye-ran, Ahn Suk-hwan, and Yoo In-soo.
The main character, So Mun, is a high school student with a disability who is recruited to join the Counters, a group of paranormal hunters who hunt down and combat evil spirits that stray from the afterlife to prey on humans. The story is based on Jang Yi's Kakao Webtoon webtoon Amazing Rumor.
The first season aired for 16 episodes on OCN's Saturdays and Sundays at 22:30 (KST) from November 28, 2020, to January 24, 2021. The second season aired for 12 episodes on tvN's Saturday and Sunday timeslot at 21:20 (KST) from July 29 to September 3, 2023. In certain regions, it can also be streamed on Netflix.

Jo Byeong-kyu as So Mun
The South Korean actor Jo Byeong-kyu portrays So Mun in the show. The newest member of the Counters is 18-year-old Mun, who works part-time as a waiter at Eonni's Noodles. After being possessed by the Yung spirit Wi-gen, he joins the Counters because of his strong sense of justice, responsibility, and desire to defend those close to him. He was disabled physically after a car accident that killed his parents seven years ago.
Yoo Jun-sang as Ga Mo-tak
The South Korean actor and singer Yoo Jun-sang portrays Ga Mo-tak in the show. Ga Mo-tak works at Eonni's Noodles as an assistant cook. A former investigator at the Jungjin Police Station, he joined the Counters after being possessed by Gi-ran, who gave him superhuman strength and short-range psychometry, following a near-fatal fall that left him memory-impaired seven years before.
Kim Se-jeong as Do Ha-na
The South Korean singer and actress Kim-Se-jeong portrays Do Ha-na in the show. Do Ha-na is the server at Eonni's Noodles. After being possessed by Woo-Sik, who gave her superhuman strength and psychometry, Ha-na joined the Counters as the only survivor after she and her family were poisoned. She can read and enter memories from years past as if she were physically present, and she can sense evil spirits even hundreds of kilometers distant.
Yeom Hye-ran as Chu Mae-ok
The South Korean actress Yeom Hye-ran portrays Chu Mae-ok, the chef at Eonni's Noodles in the show. She used to make a living by running an imaging studio. Chu Mae-ok is now a distraught mother coping with her son Su-ho's passing. After being taken over by Su-ho's spirit, she joins the Counters. She acquires strong healing skills and acts as the team's counselor and a mother figure to Mun.
Ahn Suk-hwan as Choi Jang-mul
The South Korean actor Ahn Suk-hwan portrays Choi Jang-mul in the series. Choi Jang-mul, the proprietor of Jangmul Retail, is the pioneer and leader of the Counters in Korea. He is one of the wealthiest chaebols in South Korea. He supervises the Counters' expenditure and helps them with issues that require his influence. Although he no longer served as a Counter, he still had the same authority and duties.
Yoo In-soo as Na Jeok-bong (Season 2)
The South Korean actor Yoo In-soo portrays Na Jeok-bong in the show. Jeok-bong is a clumsy new Counter who doesn't know anything. After being inspired by the spirit of sacrifice, Mo-tak suggested that he become a new counter. He is capable of sensing the scents of evil spirits.
