About Crumbl

Culver’s started after husband and wife team George and Ruth Culver, alongside their son Craig and his wife Lea, decided to open their own restaurant. Things started slowly for the newly created Culver’s after they opened their first outlet in Wisconsin in 1984, but things soon picked up. Four years later, they franchised their first outlet and even established a set of standard franchising procedures. These form the basis of what Culver’s uses even today and the company started growing.

By 1993, they had 14 restaurants across the American Midwest but by the end of the 90s, they had expanded outside the Midwest and were growing steadily. Now as of 2025, the company has 1000 restaurants across the United States with a large majority of them located in the Midwest.
