Who was Pete Davidson's dad?
Pete Davidson's father is Scott Matthew Davidson, a New York City firefighter who worked at Ladder Company 118 in Brooklyn. Scott was an excellent athlete in his growing-up years. His baseball prowess saw him earn an all-star in the Great Kills Little League. Scott also played basketball for four years at St. Joseph by the Sea High School. In his college years, Scott played basketball for the College of Staten Island. His love for sports translated into his career as well, as Scott worked as a school teacher and a basketball coach, and he was respected among his peers. He also worked as a bartender before eventually pursuing his dream to be a firefighter. Scott thought it's ‘the greatest job in America.’

On the dreadful day of September 11, 2001, Scott responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre. Scott passed away while assisting the evacuation at the Marriott World Trade Centre, located between the two towers. The North Tower collapsed on Scott and his team, resulting in the loss of all six members of Ladder 118. Scott’s sacrifice had a deep impact on Pete and his family, and Pete often talked about his memories of Scott. "My dad told me he was going to pick me up from school on 9/11. I got picked up by my mom. She didn't tell me what was going on for like three days," Davidson told host Jon Bernthal in an episode on the "Real Ones" podcast. Davidson has said that he was glad that his father died when he was young, as he didn’t yet fully understand things.
