Stranger Things has been nominated for 57 Primetime Emmy Awards and won 12. The American television industry's wide array of Emmy Awards for artistic and technical quality includes the Primetime Emmys, in which Stranger Things has received numerous award nominations. The show's narrative, acting, direction, production qualities, visual effects, and soundtrack have all won multiple awards and been praised by critics.


Stranger Things was created by the Duffer Brothers as a blend of supernatural and investigative drama, depicted with a sense of terror and childish sensitivity infused with references to 1980s pop culture. After a neighboring human research facility opens a gateway between Earth and the Upside Down, the residents of the fictional small town of Hawkins, Indiana, are subjugated by an evil alternative realm known as the Upside Down.


Stranger Things Nominations and Awards

Numerous awards, including 57 Primetime Emmy Award nominations (12 wins), four Golden Globe, four Grammys, four Critics' Choice Television Awards (one win), 13 Saturn Awards (four wins), two Producers Guild of America Awards (one win), three Writers Guild of America Awards, and two Peabody Awards (one win), have been achieved by Stranger Things. Additionally, it was chosen as one of the best 10 television shows of the year by the American Film Institute during the first two seasons of the series.


The main cast won in 2017 after receiving three nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. The cast member with the most nominations is Millie Bobby Brown.


For their roles in the series, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and Brown have each been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. In addition, Ryder and Harbour each received a Golden Globe nomination, and Brown and Harbour were nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards.
