
The Office is an American television series inspired by the British television comedy show of the same name. The series' format is a parody of the fly-on-the-wall documentary technique, which combines traditional situation comedy segments with fictional interviews with the characters.
The show ran for nine seasons, totaling 201 episodes, from March 24, 2005, to May 16, 2013. Throughout its run, the ensemble cast had several changes. The program received six straight nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series between 2006 and 2011, and it won for the second season. The Office was among one of the top 100 television programs of all time by Rolling Stone in 2016.
The program was also nominated for three Golden Globes for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical; it won one of the five Producers Guild of America Awards for Best Episodic Comedy; it won the 2006 TCA Award for Program of the Year; and it won two of the four TCA Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy. The Office received a Peabody Award in 2007 and was rated by the American Film Institute as one of the best television shows of 2006 and 2008.

The American actor and comedian Steve Carell portrays Michael Scott, regional manager of the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of Dunder Mifflin, a paper company. He is shown as a boss who is generally inadequate, unproductive, and unprofessional, yet he is also shown to be kind and to be effective at work at certain essential times.
Steve Carell is best known for his role as Michael Scott in The Office, in which he also worked as a producer, executive producer, writer, and director at times. Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute

The American actor Rainn Wilson portrays Dwight Schrute, a salesman and assistant to Michael Scott, at the fictional paper distribution company Dunder Mifflin before he was promoted. He also owns a beet plantation, operates a bed and breakfast at Schrute Farms, and in Season 7 takes over the business park where Dunder Mifflin is situated. Dwight is the only character to have both dialogue and appearances in every episode of the show.
