Mimi Rogers’ early life and career
Miriam Rogers was born Miriam Ann Spickler at Coral Gables Hospital in Coral Gables, Florida to Philip C. Spickler and Kathy Talent. Her father, Philip C. Spickler, was a Jewish man and a civil engineer who became involved with Scientology before she was born which made the organization a part of her upbringing. Her mother, Kathy Talent, on the other hand, was a former dance and drama major who met and married Spickler before Rogers was born.
She lived across America including Virginia, Arizona, Michigan, and England before settling in Los Angeles and finishing her formal education at the age of fourteen. Rogers then worked in a hospital for a few years and then as a part-time social worker for six years before beginning her acting career. That started after her first marriage ended and she moved to Los Angeles to begin her career, studying acting for nine months before seeking out an agent.

Rogers finally earned her first role a year after her divorce in 1981 in Hill Street Blues and Quincy, M.E as well as Magnum PI and Hart to Hart. That slowly but steadily saw her star in the world rise with her starring in the made-for-TV-movie Hear No Evil in 1982 before making her feature film debut in 1983 in Blue Skies Again. Post that, she worked exclusively on television until the mid-1980s and after losing out on several roles, she was eventually cast in Someone to Watch Over Me.
That kicked off her feature film career as by 1995, she had acted in 14 feature films including The Doors, Wedlock, Dark Horse, Monkey Trouble, and her breakthrough role in The Rapture. Her performance in that earned her rave reviews across the board and she was even nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead. That effectively kicked off her career as a film actress with roles in Reflections on a Crime, The Mirror Has Two Faces and in an Austin Powers film as well.

Not only that, towards the end of the 1990s she acted in X-Files, Lost in Space, and even co-produced and co-starred in the Holocaust drama The Devil's Arithmetic. She earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination alongside her other co-producers for the drama. Rogers also earned recurring roles in The Geena Davis Show, Dawson’s Creek, Las Vegas, The Loop, and more over the years.
During this time, in the early 2000s, Rogers started playing professional poker and finished in the money in her first tournament at the World Poker Tour's 240-player Shooting Stars' main event No-Limit Texas Hold 'em tournament. She continued playing professional poker and is currently on the board of directors of the World Poker Tour.
But that didn’t stop her from acting as she earned roles in Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, The Door in the Floor, King of the Hill, Unstoppable, and more. Not only that, Rogers also had a recurring role on Two and a Half Men between 2011 and 2015 and appeared on Mad Men as well as The Client List in the early 2010s. She also earned a recurring role in Bosch from 2014 to 2021 as Honey Chandler, reprising the role in the spin-off Bosh Legacy, which premiered in 2022.
