Jalen Green and Draya Michele's relationship timeline explored as NBA star sends warning about “my girl”

Draya Michele (40) and Jalen Green's (23) relationship has seen much public discourse because of their 17-year age difference. And recently, according to New York Post reports, 23-year-old Jalen Green, Guard of the Houston Rocket's took to social media earlier this week to share that he is taking a social media break for the 2025 NBA Playoffs and sent a warning message asking to leave his "girl" out of "it".

Though not much explanation is given by Green regarding the post, the publication further suggests that the warning message might be sent because of "potential narratives" that could circulate on social media. Hot New Hip Hop also suggests the message was to protect Michele from speculations.

Earlier this week, Jalen Green reportedly took to his Instagram to share a story, which said,

"...leave my girl out it I’m deactivating my shi for playoffs."

In January, their relationship was put in the spotlight yet again after Michele took her 22-year-old son to meet Green at one of his games, prompting varied reactions from fans and non-fans alike. Draya Michele and Green, who were first spotted together in August 2023, also share a daughter.

Jalen Green is an NBA Player for the Houston Rockets, and Draya Michele is a former Basketball Wives LA Star (she was formerly in a relationship with former Washington Wizards player Gilbert Arenas). According to People Magazine, the two have been romantically linked with each other since August 2023. At the time, Green was 21 years old and Michele was 38 years old.

In March 2024, news spread that Green got Michele's name tattooed on his stomach. People Magazine reported that fans of the NBA player noticed the tattoo while zooming in on one of his photos posted on Instagram Stories.

On International Women's Day in 2024, Michele shared via Instagram post that she is expecting her third child.

On May 12, 2024, Green and Michele welcomed their first child together. According to People Magazine, Green shared on SportsTalk 790 in October 2024 that "fatherhood is great" and that his daughter is "beautiful" and "healthy." They have not revealed their daughter's name or face to the public.

Michele is also a mom to two other children from her previous relationships, son Kniko (22) and Jru (9). According to Sports Illustrated, on Michele's 40th birthday in January 2025, Green posted birthday wishes on his Instagram stories with the caption,

"Happy bday to the realest on my side [black heart emoji]I love you, @drayamichele."

Though the couple is largely known to have a private relationship and does not even post much about each other on Instagram, Draya Michele has reportedly been at Green's games, and the couple has also been seen together on many occasions.

Despite their low-key relationship, Michele and Green's relationship has always been a subject of online scrutiny, which probably prompted the recent Instagram story from Green.
