The Steve Martin Brothers
The American performer Steve Martin's comedy album, The Steve Martin Brothers, was published on vinyl in 1981. William E. McEuen produced the album. According to the album cover images, the title refers to the two sides of Martin that are presented: Side One features the Rich Comedian, while Side Two features the Peace-Loving Hippie Banjo player.
The Steve Martin Brothers was the first to highlight his self-taught banjo skills, despite it having appeared on earlier recordings. It was the only album on which he enlisted the assistance of other writers, such as Jack Handey, who wrote for Saturday Night Live, to help him with his content. Martin decided to give up stand-up comedy after the album's release. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band rented studio time to record the banjo songs.
