Morgan Wallen, 31, makes a surprising comeback on an episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL) on March 29, 2025. On this much-talked-about Saturday episode, actress Mikey Madison, 26, joined the musical guest to host the show for the first time.
This recent episode grabbed everyone's attention after Wallen appeared on SNL five years after getting disinvited in 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the singer was finalized in the lineup for an SNL episode in October. However, he was removed later.
Per a People Magazine report, Morgan Wallen was seen having a party in Alabama without a mask during the peak COVID days. Pictures from that night showed the country singer kissing women, too.

Later, the singer reacted to the incident of him not getting to be featured on SNL and shared his reactions in an Instagram video. He explained,
"I'm not positive for COVID, but my actions this past weekend were pretty short-sighted and that have obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams."
He admitted his actions and further continued:
"I respect the show's decision because I know that I put them in jeopardy. I take ownership for this. I'd like to apologize to SNL, to my fans, to my team, for bringing me these opportunities and I let 'em down."
Morgan talked more about his behaviors and addressed that he might have lost himself "a little bit." He also said:
"I've tried to find joy in the wrong places and I don't know, it's left me with less joy. So I'm gonna go try to work on that. I'm gonna take a step back from the spotlight for a little while, and go work on myself."
After Morgan Wallen's Saturday Night Live controversy in 2020, musician Jack White played his part.
In a conversation with Bobby Bones in November 2020, he expressed his thoughts about his removal from the epic show. He reflected on the incident and tried to take lessons.
He said:
"I took a while, like almost two weeks, and just turned my phone off and didn't even look at it. Drove on the tractor, things like that, and just cleared my head. It was really, really good to me."
Wallen further continued:
"Honestly, throughout this whole process, there's been times where I would just be like, 'I'm kind of like lonely and I don't know if I even like this. Then you know there's another high and you're like, 'Wow yeah I love this.' It just kind of goes through phases."
Wallen later debuted on SNL in a December 2020 episode instead, where he spoofed his behavior at the party in a sketch. In the episode, he also performed his songs "7 Summers" and "Still Goin Down."
On this recent SNL episode, he sang "I'm the Problem" and "Just in Case."
Morgan Wallen's abrupt exit from the stage stirred up a heated conversation on social media. During the ending part of the episode, he did not talk, per a Men's Journal report. Soon after, he walked off the stage too. Netizens pointed out his behavior, wondering the reason behind his hurry. They are speculating on their versions of guesses for his sudden and uncomfortable exit, leaving Mikey on stage.
