
Wendell Pierce is an American actor and businessman, born on December 8, 1962, in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. He studied acting at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and later studied drama at Juilliard from 1981 to 1985. He started his acting career in the 1980s and has been in the entertainment industry for more than 35 years. Over the years, he has gained popularity for his character roles in film, TV, and on stage.
Pierce rose to fame for his role as Detective Bunk Moreland in HBO’s critically acclaimed show The Wire (2002–2008).
