Emmy-nominated fan favorite Kassie DePaiva is returning to Days of our Lives. The actress was sidelined for much of last year after she was diagnosed with cancer.
Kassie DePaiva (Eve Donovan, Days of our Lives; ex-Blair Cramer, One Life to Live/General Hospital/All My Children) is returning to Days of our Lives.
DePaiva was forced to step away from DAYS in July 2016 after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Earlier this year, DePaiva took to social media on World Cancer Day to share the news that her fans had been praying for.
"I'm grateful I can say I am cancer free," DePaiva shared on Twitter. "To all of you who battle cancer...fight on! Trust the journey!"

If there is any "bad" news in all of this, it's that due to Days of our Lives' production schedule, fans will not see DePaiva back on their televisions until October.
DePaiva assumed the role of Eve Donovan in June 2014. Her previous daytime credits include a lengthy, Emmy-nominated run as Blair Cramer on One Life to Live, as well as a five-year run as Chelsea Reardon on Guiding Light.
