Tricia Cast returning to Y&R

Tricia Cast returning to Y&R

Tricia Cast will return to The Young and the Restless later this month. The actress, who originated the role of Nina in 1986, won an Emmy for her work in 1992.

The Young and the Restless fans know all about the recast. Later this month, Y&R fans will experience a re-Cast -- when Emmy winner Tricia Cast (Nina Webster) returns to the show.

"Ok cat's out," Cast announced coyly on Twitter. "I'll be appearing again on Y&R end of June. Yay!"

Cast's return comes at the same time as that of her on-screen son, Jeff Branson (Ronan Malloy). Branson's return was announced in May.

Cast originated the role of Nina in 1986. She remained with the show through 2000, before asking to be released from her contract to spend time with her then-new husband, Bat McGrath. Cast returned for a short-term guest appearance in 2008, before returning on a recurring basis in 2009. She last appeared in February 2012.

In 1992, Cast received a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Younger Actress category. She was nominated in the same category the year before. Last year, Cast received her first nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actress.

Cast will first air in late June.
