Jeff Branson headed back to Genoa City

Jeff Branson will reprise the role of Ronan Malloy on The Young and the Restless next month. The Emmy winner previously appeared on All My Children and Guiding Light, the latter earning him a Daytime Emmy win. Branson first appeared on Y&R in 2010.

Emmy winner Jeff Branson (Ronan Malloy) will return to The Young and the Restless for an unspecified period of time next month.

"Since the word is out, yes!" Branson announced on Twitter. "Shot my first day yesterday [Friday, May 18]. Happy to be back in the GC."

Branson began his daytime career in 2004 as Jonathan Lavery on All My Children. He remained with the show for four years, and picked up an Outstanding Supporting Actor nomination in 2005.

After wrapping his AMC run, Branson headed to Guiding Light in December 2008 to play the role of Shayne Lewis. Branson remained with the series through its finale in September 2009, and in 2010 won a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category.

Branson first appeared on The Young and the Restless in June 2010. His most recent appearance was in February 2012, at which time Ronan left Genoa City to work on a secret case.

His first airdate will be June 26. A show rep declined to comment how long Branson will be sticking around, but a show source hints that Branson's return will be tied to the exit of another character.
